Step 1 T: Good morning, boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning, Miss Fan.
T: What day is it today?（点击课件，出现5月台历）

T: … and … is this weekend. Last weekend is …

T: Clever! What does last mean?S: It means …
T: Well done! What did you do last weekend?
设计意图：通过师生自由谈话，引出this weekend 和last weekend的意义，很自然地过渡到
写一个环节。
Step 2 Use the sentence you learn in the context and make conversations with your friends.

T: Good! They had a fun last weekend. What did they do? Let’s have a look!
Step 3 Read the text and tell the main idea of the text in the students' own words.
1. Let the students speak in front of the class.
2. Encourage them not to be shy when they stand there.
3. Give the students chances to speak loudly in front of the class.
Step 4 Encourage the students to ask more questions about this part.
1. Divide the class into groups of three or four to finish the task.
2. Ask all of the students to take part in the discussion.
Step 5 Homework
1. Finish off the exercises in the textbook.
2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
