How do middle school students spend their summer vacation? The following is a social survey
report on the summer vacation life of middle school students. We handed out 650 question papers.
But 520 students including 300 boy students and 220 girl students gave back their papers.
How was students’ summer life? Experts believe that children’s summer vacation should be full
of fun playing, but they shouldn’t play every day. Nowadays, children are not free at home. They can
only do homework all day, and sometimes they play computer games or watch TV. On the summer
vacation, many places hold summer camps, but some parents are afraid that their children will be
injured (受伤). In fact, this is wrong. Because the school gives students a summer vacation, it is to let
the students take a break and relax, and it should also make children accept a setback (挫折) education.
So we should let the children join in the activities such as the summer camp, to experience nature.
Japanese adults will send their children to a lonely island during the summer vacation so that they can
learn to be independent and not be spoiled (溺爱) like little emperors and princesses. Teachers and
parents can let them try properly. I believe in the joint efforts of teachers, parents and students, our
middle school students will spend a very meaningful summer vacation next year.

UNICEF is an international charity that helps children around the world. It was set up in 1946 to

were badly influenced.
Now, UNICEF has a number of plans and hopes to achieve for children in every country. For
example, they think that all children should be able to have safe drinking water. They also work hard
to make sure that children can get medicine if they are ill. In many countries, children, especially
girls, do not have the chance to go to school, so UNICEF tries to let them get a good education.
UNICEF is different from many other charities because it works with different governments
around the world. Though many governments have their own systems (体系) to improve the lives of

COVID-19 spread again in Shenzhen in early 2022. In the new round of fighting against the
virus, a large number of heroes appeared. Fu Zai, a British short-hair cat from Shenzhen, was one of
them.
Fu Zai even received certificate (证书) with the following words on it: “Dear Fu Zai, in view of
your excellent performance at our pet centre, we decided to give you the title Ant- epidemic (防疫)
Little Hero as a prize. We hope you will grow up healthily and happily!”
The certificate was from a pet care centre in Shenzhen. Fu Zai spent about 20 days there while
his owner was experiencing centralized quarantine(集中隔离).
In fact, there were two such centres in Shenzhen which were used to help people take care of
their pets during the special period. On March 16, the construction of the first pet care centre began,
and at about 1 a.m. on March 18, the construction was completed. A week later, the second centre was
built near the first.
In addition to cats, there were also dogs, hamsters, rabbits and ducks in the centres. Volunteers
recorded the name, age, living and eating habits of each animal as well as the owners’ detailed
information. They filmed a short video of each pet everyday and sent it to their owners. They also
cleaned the centres twice a day to provide the animals with a dust-free and comfortable environment.
What was more, the service was free.
Thanks to the pet care centres, pet owners felt reassured during their quarantine. And the

And the
