四个名词选项辨析。

A.deterioration：侧重质量、状态逐步恶化、退化，多指事物变坏、变质，强调品质下降，不侧重“力量、机能变弱”。

B.destruction：意为摧毁、毁灭，程度很重，指完全被破坏、毁掉。衰老并不会直接把组织彻底摧毁，语义过重，不符合生物学常识，排除。

C.debilitation：意思是弱化、衰弱、机能衰竭，特指身体、组织机能变弱，刚好对应后文“less active（活性下降）、less capable of performing its normal function（难以发挥正常功能）”，完全匹配句子逻辑，为正确选项。

D.defecation：词义是排便、净化澄清，和组织、衰老话题无关，词义完全不符，直接排除。

6.需要注意的语法

①with ageing是with+名词介词短语，作伴随状语，含义“随着……”，相当于as引导的时间状语从句（As people age）。with是介词，后面只能接名词/动名词，不能直接写句子。

②there is+名词是there be存在句型，表示“存在有……”。本句there is debilitation of tissue，翻译为“组织存在衰弱现象”。

③so that引导结果状语从句，翻译为“因此、结果”，表示前面这件事带来后面的结果。区分：so that也可以引导目的状语从句（以便，为了），本句是结果。

④固定搭配be capable of doing sth能够做某事。of是介词，后面必须接动名词doing，不能接动词原形。本句less capable of performing，performing就是动名词。

⑤比较级less active，less capable：less+形容词原词，表示“不那么……，更缺少……”，是降级比较。active、capable本身是多音节形容词，用less构成否定比较级。
