A few days after the college entrance examination, I received a call from my teacher. He told me he received
a strange letter from a famous university in Shanghai. He said that the envelope was very different and that it seemed
to contain a postcard. He urged me to go to his office immediately. But I hesitated for a long time, wondering
whether it was a rejection or an acceptance letter. Finally, I asked my mother to go with me.
Having taken the letter from my teacher, I tried to open it. But my hands kept shaking so violently that it
dropped to the floor. My mother picked it up and opened it very carefully. Out of the envelope came a beautiful card wthi
the words “You are admitted to...” in bold golden letters. As a matter of fact, it was beyond my wildest dream and I
doubted whether I was dreaming. Then I was drawn back to reality by my teacher’s and my mother’s
congratulations.
