Unit 1 Festivals and Celebrations
1．Over the next week，as my bank account(银行账户) grew smaller，I crazily applied
for(申请) jobs，but I was defeated.

8．While offering(状语从句的省略) sacrifice to the Zaowangye，people place candy，water，
beans and hay on the table in front of the Zaowangye image.
9．Above all(最重要的是；尤其是)，it suggests a new year with a new image and expresses the
good wishes of Chinese people to ring out the Old Year and ring in the New Year.
