小作文
版本一
The Light I Follow
My mother is not a hero in stories, but the person I admire most. As a doctor, she works long
hours, yet never lets exhaustion steal her smile.
One midnight, she was called to the hospital for an emergency surgery. I watched her change
from a tired mother into a focused healer. She returned at dawn, eyes weary but calm. "Someone
needed me," she said simply. In that moment, I understood what duty truly means.
From her, I learned that strength is quiet responsibility, not loud praise. She does not seek
attention, yet her actions echo louder than any words. She taught me that falling is never failure
— refusing to rise again is.That is why I admire her: not for being perfect, but for choosing
kindness and courage every single day.

My Mother(
The person I admire most is my mother. She is a doctor and works very hard every day.
One night, I had a high fever. My mother took me to the hospital quickly. She stayed with me
all night and did not sleep. The next morning, she went to work as usual. I felt so touched. My
mother also helps me with my studies. When I feel sad, she always makes me happy. She is not
famous or rich, but she is the best mother in my heart.
From her, I learn to be kind and hardworking. She tells me that it is okay to fail, but I should
never give up. I want to be a person like her when I grow up. That is why I admire my mother
most.
大作文(248)
“You don’t look happy, Marc. What’s wrong?” she said. Explaining what had happened,
especially the bet between him and Huck, he told Lily his decision. He wanted to make careful
preparations for the exam, but ran into difficulties with math. He was at a loss what to do next.
“Don’t worry! I’ll help you. Just be confident!” replied Lily. The following days, Marc worked
very hard and made great progress. Gradually, his confidence grew and he could solve math
problems with ease, with the instructions appearing in his brain as if the teacher was standing at
his side. It was then that Marc realized hard work was never useless, and a little motivation could
light up the path to progress.
On the day of the exam, Marc went to school with great confidence. He met Huck in the
classroom, who looked delighted as if he was bound to win. But Marc didn’t care. When the exam
began, Marc answered all the questions as best as he could. Several days later, the result came out.
It turned out that Marc did much better than Huck. “Well done,” said Mom. “We could go to see a
movie to celebrate, and you can choose one.” “I think Lily should choose,” said Marc. “I would
never have gained such a great achievement without her help and encouragement.” Never should
we underestimate the power of determination and help from others, for they can turn our hesitation
into courage and our weakness into strength.

1.
A: How was your exam, Emily?
B: I really messed up. I couldn't answer a lot of the questions.
A: Everybody makes mistakes. Mom and I will always support you.
B: How was yours?
2.
A: Hey Jessica, I need to improve my English.
B: What needs improvement?
A: Your daily communication skills are great, with a good accent.
B: Thanks, but my business English could be better.
3.
A: I'm calling to book a cleaning service for tomorrow.
B: Of course. Are you free at nine o'clock tomorrow morning?
A: I'm a little busy at that time. I'll be free two hours later.
B: Okay, I'll send someone.
4.
A: I've gained so much weight.
B: It's hard to eat less in winter, but you're slim. Do you often go to the gym?
A: No, I usually go for a long power walk.
5.
A: Are you ready for your tooth cleaning today?
B: Yeah, but my back tooth hurts.
A: Do you need to take it out?
B: Let me take a closer look. It's fine, but you need to start brushing three times a day.
6.
A: Two dislikes for this film. This is definitely one of the worst films I've ever seen.
B: Yeah, I was really hoping the writers would do something more original, but this B-rated film
recycles the same predictable and old-school plot.
A: I can't agree more. There are also too many plot holes to count.
B: The action is totally too much, but overall, the acting is decent.
A: Absolutely. I'd give this film two stars.
B: I'll give only one.
7.
A: Linda, how's retirement treating you?
B: It's been great. I was always busy teaching in the school before retiring, but now I finally have
the time to pursue things I never had the time to do, like singing and dancing.
A: Cool. I'm thinking about hanging up my boots pretty soon too. I'm really tired of making
programs all the time.
B: Wow Jordan, I didn't think that was possible. You've always been such a workhorse.
A: Yeah, but I'm no spring chicken anymore. Besides, it'll be nice to finally slow down and enjoy
life, like writing my favorite novels.
B: That sounds great. Just be prepared for a period of adjustment.
A: Yeah, a lot of people seem kind of lost when they first retire. Work is such a big part of our
identities.
B: Old habits die hard.
A:They do.But if you can let those attachments go, you can finally taste the sweet fruit of your
hard-earned labor.
8.
A: Hey Zoe, check it out. I finally bought an electric vehicle.
B: Nice. How are you liking it compared to your old gas car?
A: I love it. It drives like a dream. It's smooth, quiet and speeds up pretty quickly too.
B: Must be a nice change from your old car then. How often do you have to charge it? Every
night?
A: Luckily, the parking lot at my office has charging stations if I forget though.
B: That's convenient. Have you tried the self-driving features?
A: Of course. It can adjust speed according to traffic so I never have to do any operation.
B: Man, maybe I should get an electric car.
A: You should. How about having a test drive using my car? Here is the key.
B: OK.
9.
A: Well, what did you think of my speech, Crystal? Too long or too boring?
B: No, Jason, it was interesting. The delivery could be a little inappropriate at times, though.
A: Should I try to memorize the speech instead of reading it then?
B: To be honest, neither option will help you connect with our classmates.
A: But I can't just give a speech off the top of my head.
B: You can work with an outline and use reminder cards to jog your memory.
A: Oh, that makes more sense. Anything else?
B: It comes across as a little colorless.I’d be more active and use hand gestures.
A: I suppose I could be more aware of my body language.
B: Right. And it won’t kill you to add in a funny story or two. Audiences eat that stuff up.
A: I’ll owe you a coffee after my presentation tomorrow.
10. A quantified living trend is emerging among young people. They check their smart watches in
the morning to review sleep data, use timer apps during the day to plan, study and work, and in
the evening check their ranking on social media step counts. Young people are beginning to
manage themselves in a data driven, visualized manner. Through data analysis, individuals aim to
achieve greater self awareness and refine their lives. Nowadays, many mainstream fitness
trackers are priced under 1000 yuan, and numerous smartphones come with built in health
monitoring features. The drop in device costs has made these quantification tools easily
accessible on social media platforms. Quantified living groups have attracted tens of thousands
of members. Users post their personal data charts and share tools and tracking methods
covering everything from personal finance and media consumption to knowledge acquisition. A
digital space for sharing treasured memories has also been created. At the end of the year or
after exam results are announced, people often share summary charts of their focus time over a
period to look back on the past and recall their efforts and achievements.
