Last week, I took part in a school exhibition held by the Student Union aiming to promote our awareness of
protecting the environment.
The exhibition kicked off (开始) with a speech on the importance of environmental protection. Then, we were
guided around to appreciate various works. Some were made of used bottles, while others were crafted (精心制作)
with old clothes. These creative works vividly (生动地) demonstrated that small actions could make a big
difference in protecting our planet.
For me, not only did the exhibition inspire my creativity but it also deepened my understanding of
environmental protection. I firmly believe more activities like this will encourage us to take practical steps for a
greener future.

To Benjamin’s shock, the woman kept quiet the entire time. He decided to stay. After all, his early departure
would let Natalie down. With beautiful songs winding in the ears, the concert finished. Benjamin’s friends

M: I’m a doctor now, but I didn’t know that was going to be my career. My mother was in hospital and I took care
of her. That was when I knew I wanted to help people like her.

M: Actually, I applied to law school before I played a role in my first film by chance at only sixteen. And then, I
didn’t act for four whole years until a French director noticed me and persuaded me to act again. That was when

W: Do you want to be a big star someday?
M: Well, I don’t really want to be that or to win any international awards. I’m just trying to experience as many
different acting styles as I can.
W: In your lest film, The Waterfall, you played Simon, a young man very much like yourself.
M: Yeah, I’d been in full time education for twenty years, like Simon has. He’s fighting for what he believes in,justice in court. I’m fighting for what I’m keen on. That made me appreciate that role very much.
W: What’s your next movie?
M: I’ll do something I’ve long planned to do, a science fiction movie, but it won’t start until next year. I’ve also
had some calls from a director asking if I could fit in another film ---- a very appealing offer. But I’ve done five
films without a break. So I’ll definitely need some time off first.

Dear friends in the media, welcome to the press conference! My husband David’s new art exhibition will be
put on next month from the 16th to 19th. That’s why I’m here today-to give you a clue about what can be expected
from it. Three years ago, my husband and I left London and moved to the south of China, because of a job offer in
Chengdu. According to the arrangement, we’d stay here for a year. But when we arrived on a lovely September
evening, we realized immediately that we wanted to stay longer.
David loved the scenery here and was greatly inspired by it. He wanted to record everything with his
paintbrush. Every day he spent hours outdoors painting beautiful sunsets, flying birds and mostly the locals. The
styles of his works were always changing and each new painting was even more beautiful than the previous one.
Last May, while we were visiting a small town, we saw an empty cottage near an open wheat field. David thought
it would make a lovely place for an art exhibition, so we rented it. We filled the place with David’s paintings and
began to prepare...
