Twin Baby Red Pandas Meet People in Fuzhou

Two baby red pandas have met people in Fuzhou, Fujian. They are twins, and they are only one month old. The boy is called Huajuan. The girl is called Huasheng.

The twins were born on August 22. Their mother is a red panda named Duoduo. Huasheng opened her eyes after 28 days. Huajuan opened his eyes two days later. Now the little pandas can see a little, and they try to walk on the grass.

Keepers take them outside in the morning and in the evening. The air is cool then. Huajuan is strong, so he drinks milk from his mother. Huasheng is small, so keepers feed her by hand. The keepers look after the twins day and night.

The caterpillars do not bite people. Their hair may make some people feel itchy. But they are bad for trees, because they eat the leaves of many broad-leaf trees. Workers in the two cities are trying many ways to stop them.

Two large machines work together there. One is a platform called Haiji-2. The other is a round factory ship called Haikui-1. It takes the oil, stores it, and then carries it to land.

There are 32 wells in the oilfield. The sea there is about 305 metres deep. Workers spent ten years on new technology. Now the oilfield can work for 30 more years. This helps China get more energy from the deep sea.
