遇到这类题，其实很简单，知识点如下所示：

too many + 可数名词复数（太多……）

too much + 不可数名词（太多……）

much too + 形容词 / 副词（太……）

如果我们强行记忆以上内容，当然可以，但时间长不仅容易忘记，而且易混淆，做题时还是傻傻分不清楚。不如这样理解：

too的意思是“太……”，都知道吧。

在much too里面；关键词是too，用来修饰后面的形容词/副词，所以跟后面的形容词/副词相连，因此只能把much 放在too前面。

比如：too tall 太高；too fast 太快

那么much too 意思也是“太……”，但描述的程度比单独的“too”更强。

比如：much too tall太高；much too fast太快

比较一下：

too tall→much too tall

too fast→much too fast

在too much/too many里面，关键词是much/many，后面＋不可数名词/可数名词，所以要跟名词紧密相连，不能分开，因此too只能放在much/many的前面。

比如：too many books 太多的书；too much water 太多的水

比较一下：

many books→too many books

much water→too much water

这样是不是更容易区分开呢？

回到上面的真题：

My cousin is ________ heavy because he often eats ________ fast food.

太重是too heavy，因此too再加上much，就是much too heavy；太多的快餐是much fast food，因此在前面加上too，就是too much fast food。因此答案选C。
