As one of the most culturally rich cities in the world, Rome is undoubtedly a
must-visit destination. But there is so much more to Italy than just its international
capital.
Verona
Made famous by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Verona is a charming city
that is often overlooked by travelers. Its medieval (中世纪) structures and cobbled (铺

For years, I struggled with self-doubt, which followed me even in moments of
success. No achievement ever seemed enough to silence that inner voice whispering,
“You don’t belong here.”
It started after I learned about my condition. Autism ( 自闭症) wasn’t widely
understood back then. My teachers didn’t understand me. My classmates didn’t know
how to treat me. Bullying (霸凌) was constant. During those years, I tried to hide my
autism, but doing so only deepened my self-doubt.
High school was especially tough. I had back surgery, failed several exams, and
struggled with standardized tests. I remember thinking, “What’s the point?” But
something deep inside me whispered, “Keep going.” So I did.
Still, the self-doubt stayed, like a shadow in the night. To deal with it, I started
writing. At first, it was just a way to get the thoughts out of my head. I poured
everything onto the page: anger, sadness, confusion, hope. My voice had been quiet
for so long, but now, on paper, it began to find its way.
As I wrote, something shifted. I started sharing my story about autism, about the
bullying, about the fight to believe in myself. Something struck me: the very qualities
I once tried to hide—like my sensitivity, my unique perspective, my deep compassion
(怜悯)—were actually things to be proud of. That was a turning point.
I later turned my writings into a book and had it published. Since then, I’ve
spoken publicly and connected with people who once felt invisible, as I once did. I’ll
never forget one moment in Dubai: after I finished my talk, a nervous teenager
hesitated, then suddenly sang a touching song about wishing parents would
understand their children better.
It was so moving and unexpected. Once again, I was reminded that the voice I
once tried to hide had helped someone else find theirs.
24.What worsened the author’s self-doubt at first?
A.His back surgery.
B.Hiding his autism.
C.Failing school exams.
D.Being bullied at school.
25.Why did the author start writing?
A.To publish a book.
B.To share his autism.
C.To address his self-doubt.
D.To obtain encouragement.
26.What did the author realize through sharing his story?
A.Autism was common in schools.
B.Writing books struck gold for him.
C.Parents needed hope for their kids.
D.What he once tried to hide became his strength.
27.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text?
A.From Hiding to Shining B.Overcoming School Challenges
C.An Inspiring Talk in Dubai D.Writing to cure Autism
C
Capybaras are on a roll. These adorable animals have taken over social media
— showing up in countless GIFs and even inspiring a hit song — likely because many
of us long to be as chill (悠闲自在的) as they are.
Capybaras were once thought to only live in South America, but they’ve been
spotted as far north as Florida. How the species arrived in the Sunshine State is a bit
of a mystery, but locals don’t seem to be complaining. What’s more, people in Florida
now have special capybara-petting chances, thanks to a new cafe centered around
animals.
According to the Associated Press, downtown St. Augustine, Florida, has been
home to The Capybara Cafe since October 2024. People come to the cafe to pet the
capybaras and feed them corns. Some capybaras are also more than delighted to climb
into people’s laps for a rest. Hundreds of guests have been visiting The Capybara Cafe
since it opened, with appointments to meet the animals booking up months in
advance. Tickets there start at $49 for 30 minutes with the capybaras and go up to $99
for 60 minutes. Better still, capybaras aren’t the only animals people get to pet there.
Other café “staff” include skunks, armadillos, and a wallaby who’s also known to get
along well with human strangers. However, the cafe’s name could set some up for the
wrong idea. The name Capybara Cafe implies that there will be tasty snacks and
drinks with distinctive flavors for customers, but the business only sells capybara-
themed shirts, water bottles, and toys, with all snacks reserved for the furry “staff”
there.
The owners founded the cafe to raise community awareness of wildlife
preservation in engaging ways and to support a nonprofit animal shelter, and they also
wanted to open another location soon in St. Petersburg, Florida.
28.What does the underlined sentence “Capybaras are on a roll.” in paragraph 1
mean?
A.Capybaras prefer human touches.
B.Capybaras enjoy great popularity.
C.Capybaras increase in population.
D .Capybaras can roll themselves
over.
29.What draws locals to the cafe?
A.The contact with animals.
B.The flavorful coffee drinks.
C.The snacks served for pets. D.The dreamlike atmosphere.
30.Why is the cafe’s name misleading?
A.It houses pets except capybaras. B.It hires the capybaras as waiters.
C.It lacks services of regular cafes. D.It operates as a nonprofit shelter.
31.What do the owners intend to do?
A.Boost sales of farm produce.
B.Advocate for animal welfare.
C.Establish habitats for capybaras. D.Benefit from community events.
D
It may seem hard to believe, but snacking several times a day can boost your
health and fitness — exercise snacking, that is. “Exercise snacks” are short bursts of
activity — 30 seconds to 5 or 10 minutes max — that include almost any type of
movement. Think climbing stairs, walking, cycling, or dancing. Today, numerous
studies prove these mini workouts can make a difference.
Performing 15- to 30-second exercise snacks three times daily was shown to
improve cardiorespiratory ( 心和肺的) fitness levels and exercise performance in
inactive adults, according to a small January 2022 study published in the journal
Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews.
Adults who reported they didn’t work out saw a 17% to 18% reduction in cancer
cases after they began doing just 3.4 to 3.6 minutes of intense ( 激烈的) physical
activity daily, a July 2023 study of 22,398 people found. Their daily physical activity
was done in bursts lasting less than one or two minutes. Hitting 4.5 minutes (in total)
of intense physical activity each day was linked to a 31% to 32% lower risk of cancer,
according to the study published in JAMA Oncology.
The benefits of movement extend to brain health, too. Doing even a small
amount of easy to hard physical activity every day reduces your risk of dementia (痴
呆), according to a March study in JAMDA: The Journal of the Post-Acute and Long-
Term Care Medical Association.
Exercise snacks are a favorite tool used by Dr. Supatra Tovar, owner of Dr.
Supatra Tovar & amp; Associates. “I’m a big proponent of behavior change that
starts tiny,” Tovar said. “So I like to create behaviors with my clients that are easy,
achievable and doable every day of the week.”
“Your body is kind of lazy,” said Michael Betts, a personal trainer and director
at Train Fitness who’s based in London. “Doing these little exercise snacks reminds
your body that it does need to work to maintain and improve its overall function.”
32.What can be called an exercise snack according to the text?
A.Singing songs with your classmates.
B.Turning off the lights before leaving school.
C.Jogging without stopping for 20 minutes in PE class.
D.Rushing from your classroom to the dining hall for lunch.
33.What is a benefit that exercise snacks bring according to the text?
A.Lowering cancer risk.
B.Improving muscle strength.
C.Keeping people away from dementia.
D.Increasing the heart rate of inactive adults.
34.What does the underlined word “proponent” in paragraph 5 refer to?
A.Coach.
B.Judge.
C.Leader.
D.Supporter.
35.What is the main purpose of the text?
A.To compare different types of exercise.
B.To encourage short bursts of physical activity.
C.To show some studies about mini workouts.
D.To stress the importance of daily exercise.
第二节 (共5 小题;每小题2.5 分,满分 12.5 分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中
有两项为多余选项。
Starting senior high school is an exciting new step, but it can also feel a little
upset. Everything is different —new teachers, more subjects, bigger classrooms, and
even new classmates who come from different junior high schools.
36
With
some small steps, you can get used to it easily.
37
Unlike junior high, senior high has more subjects and faster
lessons. You need to change your methods to deal with your schoolwork. For
example, if you find math hard, take short notes in class about key formulas (公式).
After school, spend 15 minutes reviewing those notes. If you still don’t understand,
ask your teacher during break time. They are always ready to help.
Make friends actively. Having friends makes senior high more fun.
38
Sometimes you can share your favorite snacks with them during lunch break —small
things like this make friendships grow faster. Join a club you like, too —maybe the art
club or the basketball club. Last month, my cousin joined the book club. She met two
classmates who love the same books as her.
39
Manage your time well. Senior high gives you more free time, but you need to
use it wisely. Make a simple timetable. For example, do your homework from 6:00
p.m.to 7:30 p.m. Then you can watch a short video or play with your family for 30
minutes. Before going to bed, spend 10 minutes planning next day’s tasks.
40
If you do that, it’ll make you stressed.
Senior high is a new adventure, not a problem. Consider the measures above
seriously and practice them. Soon, you’ll find that you love this new part of your life.
A.Don’t worry, though.
B.Find your classroom and library on the first day.
C.Now they often read together after class.
D.Try to find new study ways.
E.Don’t wait until the last minute to finish homework.
F.Remember to take short breaks between doing your homework.
G.You can start by saying “hi” to classmates who sit next to you.

阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1 个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
Yunnan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodle Soup is a
56
( tradition) and highly
popular dish in the Yunnan Province. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty,
57
it
was first created in Mengzi — a small city in Yunnan — and carries a beautiful legend
passed down through generations.
The dish is said to be invented by a scholar’s wife. Locals love sharing how she
had the clever idea: To let her husband, who studied on a small island, have a hot
meal, the wife made a thick chicken soup and
58
(cover) its surface
with hot oil, which helped the soup stay hot for long.
By the 1920s, people found that the recipe had been kept in local families for
many years before it was shared
59
(public). This dish, which mixes soft
noodles, fresh meat and vegetables in hot soup, soon became popular in nearby
60
(region).
61
(make) Cross-Bridge Rice Noodle Soup needs careful work. Cooks
first boil the soup with bones and herbs to make
62
tasty, then choose fresh
ingredients to ensure good flavor. However, a key step is to use a special bowl that
keeps the soup’s temperature.
63
(serve) in such bowls, the dish not only fills
people’s stomachs but also carries the story of a wife’s love. Diners usually adjust
seasonings
64
(they) to match their tastes.
Today, Cross-Bridge Rice Noodle Soup has become a symbol of Yunnan
cuisine, attracting tourists and locals alike. Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch,
65
dinner, this dish offers a satisfying and unique dining experience.

整的短文。续写词数应为 150 左右。
Lily moved from a small coastal town to a busy city just two weeks before
school started. The towering buildings and endless traffic were totally different from
the sunsets on the beach she had always known. On her first day at Oakwood High,
she felt like an outsider—a quiet girl lost in a sea of joyful strangers.
Her classmates were friendly but distant. Everyone seemed to have their own
groups, their own jokes, and their own rhythm (节奏). Lily’s only comfort was her
violin, the one thing that reminded her of home. She’d practice it every evening,
letting the music carry her back to the sound of waves and the smell of salt.
One day, her music teacher announced a duet (二重奏) competition. Lily was
matched with Emma, the most outgoing girl in class. She wore bright colors, laughed
loudly, and always had a group around her. Lily, on the other hand, preferred staying
alone. When she heard the news, her heart sank. She had hoped to perform alone — to
hide in the safety of her own notes.
Their first practice was a disaster. Emma wanted to play a modern piece, full of
energy, while Lily insisted on something classical and familiar.
“Why can’t we try something new?” Emma asked, tapping her foot impatiently.
“Because I’m not used to it,” Lily replied softly. “I like knowing what comes
next.” “But music isn’t about repeating the same old patterns ( 模式). It’s about
feeling!” Emma stressed.
They couldn’t agree. The more Emma pushed, the more Lily withdrew (退缩).
After three unsuccessful rehearsals (排练), Emma sighed in frustration. “You know, if
you keep hiding in your shell, you’ll never really belong here.” The words stung. Lily
packed her violin without a word and left. That evening, she didn’t practice but
thought about Emma’s words. Was she really hiding? Was she so afraid of change that
she’d rather be alone than adapt?
注意:1.续写词数应为150 左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
