Knowing that our school intends to hold an activity named Chinese Workshop
whose aim is to stimulate Chinese and English culture communication, as an
exchange student from China, I have a desire to offer a session on teaching others
how to make a paper-cutting craft.
As a form of folk art with a long history which is still practiced today, paper-cutting can create various designs or patterns with the use of scissors, which are
used for decoration in various folk activities. Not only can it open a window to
traditional Chinese culture, but it also makes contributions to cross-cultural
understanding and appreciation. What's more, I have a good command of paper-
cutting, which makes it easy for me to show its beauty and share my skills with the
participants. I'll be thrilled to see the students involved in this charming art of paper-
cutting.
