allows you to edit and delete messages even after sending them. Additionally, you can send files, and share your
location. It also lets you send messages that are automatically deleted after an appointed time.
Silent Phone
This app supports one-on-one video chat, multi-party voice conferencing for up to six participants, etc. Calls
and texts between Silent Phone users are encrypted (加密) end-to-end on mobile devices, considered the best for

(2024·浙江绍兴·三模)Sandoval, who comes from Los Angeles, has traveled and filmed in over 50
countries across seven continents and now lives in China. “In 2008, tired of my studio work in the U.S, I came to
China, thinking I would be here one or two years, but it has turned out to be 16 years!” he said. He hopes his
photographs will inspire others to embark on adventures as well.
Sandoval is a professional photographer and learned commercial photography at what was then the Brooks
Institute of Photography. With the hope of trying something different for himself, he went to Chengdu in Southwest
China to live in October 2008 and has traveled throughout the country since then.
In the beginning, he did editorial work for magazines both in and outside Sichuan, such as Vogue. Then he
worked with the Sichuan tourism department to produce travel brochures, and also on ad campaigns for
destinations for corporate companies.
To him, Chengdu is the capital of a laid-back lifestyle. He was delighted to see that residents, dressed
stylishly or comfortably, strolled in the streets “as slowly as snails”. Almost a “walking encyclopedia” of Chengdu,
Sandoval covered every corner of Chengdu and recorded Chengduese and their lives with his camera, listening to
the sound of mahjong tiles being shuffled and music from traditional stringed instruments.
He also goes from place to place with his heavy travel kit. The varied culture and vast, beautiful land has
kept him in China much longer than he had planned in the beginning. He remembers a wide range of adventures
like exploring a local vineyard and local wine in Yinchuan City, a riding performance by a Mongolian ethnic group
in the Shuidonggou Horse Riding Show, and then the totally different experience of visiting the Hainan Free Trade
Port in the south.
He thinks he has done a lot in “this beautiful and vast country” with his “travel photos”. “I try to show
people the beauty of where I go. I try to inspire them to travel and go to places. I’m hoping to do more international
work,” he said.
4.Why did Sandoval come to China?
A.He was not good at studio work. B.He wanted to step out of the comfort zone.C.He had a preference for international work. D.He was attracted by the picturesque nature of China.
5.What does the underlined word “laid-back” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
A.Leisurely. B.Simple. C.Luxurious. D.Healthy.
6.Sandoval’s experiences around China are mentioned in Paragraph 5 to show _______.
A.Sandoval’s diverse hobbies B.Sandoval’s desire for new careers
C.Sandoval’s superb photo technique D.Sandoval’s fascination for Chinese culture
7.What is the writing purpose of this passage?
A.To call on readers to take up photography.
B.To praise Sandoval for spreading Chinese culture.
C.To facilitate the development of tourism in Chengdu.
D.To introduce the experience of a professional photographer.

(2024·山东·三模)Deforestation——by clear-cutting or wildfires——has massive consequences both on
climate and health. But leaving reforestation to Mother Nature can take decades, particularly as disastrous wildfires
are increasing in frequency and intensity. And the time, cost and labour involved makes traditional methods of tree
planting not as practical as they once were.
Bryce Jones knows how hard it is to replant forests. For four months in 2013, he worked as a tree planter
throughout Canada. “There’s no technology there,” he says. “The only way you can automate reforestation is
through the air.” But it wasn’t until 2019 that he hit on the one that he thought had potential: use drones (无人机) to
fire specially designed seed pods (荚) into the ground—at 10 times the normal rate and costing 20-percent less than
traditional methods. He proposed the idea to his brother and Flash Forest was born. His first goal was to plant a
billion trees by 2025.
The team took out a loan, bought a drone and used 3D printers at Jones’s school to make casts of the pods.
Now, only two and a half years later, the company has a group of drones with each able to carry several thousand
pods per flight. Three operators work in a field, controlling five drones, whose flights take 15 to 20minutes. Flash
Forest’s big draw is its seed pod, which contains everything seedlings (幼苗) need to promote survival. And its
technology allows them to reach post-burn sites or remote areas that are difficult for traditional tree planting.
There are challenges every day, Jones says, as they work to improve the engineering, hardware, software and
seed-po d recipes. Then there are the challenges presented by the climate——this year, record temperatures, record
wildfires and drought. “That was something that was totally out of our control,” he says.Unlike some traditional forms of reforestation, Flash Forest is focused on biodiversity. For Jones, the target
of planting a billion trees by 2025 is just the beginning. “I have a dream that the company will plant on six
continents——everywhere where our technology is needed,” he says.
8.What does the author intend to tell us in paragraph 1?
A.The benefits of reforestation. B.The power of Mother Nature.
C.The way of putting out wildfires. D.The urgency to seek a planting way.
9.What are the features of Jones’ technology?
A.Efficient and cost-saving. B.Innovative and back-breaking.
C.Pricey and ground-breaking. D.Challenging and time-consuming.
10.What contributes to the particular appeal of Flash Forest?
A.Its drone operators. B.The frequent flights.
C.Its seed pod. D.The low cost of seedlings.
11.What can we infer about Flash Forest from the last paragraph?
A.It changed its focus in the past. B.It will achieve its final target in 2025.
C.It might be available worldwide one day.D.It has replaced traditional forms of reforestation.

(2024·湖南·二模)Deepfake: synthetic (合成的) media, including images, videos, and audio, is generated
by Al technology to show something that does not exist or events that have never occurred.
Examples of deepfakes have been widely spread, including a video of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg
giving a speech about his company’s plan, and a video of Elon Musk dancing and talking about the power of
dreams, etc.
It’s easy for AI to produce such deepfakes using two different deep-learning algorithms (算法): one that
creates the best possible clone based on a real image or video and another that detects whether the copy is fake (伪
造的) and, if it is, reports on the differences between it and the original. The first algorithm produces a synthetic
image and receives feedback on it from the second algorithm and then adjusts it to make it appear more real; the
loop is repeated as many times as it takes until the second algorithm does not detect any false imagery.
Deepfakers often have evil motives, including creating misinformation and generating confusion. They tend
to demean, terrify, and annoy, and have targeted not only celebrities but ordinary citizens as well.
Most of the academic research surrounding deepfakes focuses on the detection of huge amount of deepfake
videos emerging online. One detection approach is to use algorithms to identify inconsistencies in deepfake videos. For example, an automatic system can examine videos for errors such as irregular blinking patterns of lighting.
However, these approaches have been criticized because deepfake detection is characterized by a “moving goal
post” where the production of deepfakes is changing and improving while detection tools are always on the way of
catching them up.
However, education and medicine are two of the fields that may benefit from deepfake technology. In the
classroom, historical speeches could be deepfaked to offer immersive and engaging lessons. In health care, it can
improve the accuracy with which tumors (肿瘤) are spotted, making them easier to treat. Its use also permits using
synthesized data instead of that from real patients to avoid privacy concerns.
12.How does AI create a deepfake video according to the passage?
A.By copying and combining the fake images.
B.By constantly teaching itself to perfect the output.
C.By acquiring feedback from multiple sources.
D.By repeatedly generating realistic images from scratch.
13.What is the challenge of detecting deepfake videos?
A.Ever-evolving deepfake techniques. B.Insufficient academic basis on detection solutions.
C.A massive number of false videos online. D.Limited availability of detection tools.
14.What is the author’s attitude toward deepfake?
A.Supportive. B.Critical. C.Objective. D.Unconcerned.
15.What is probably the best title for the passage?
A.Potential threats: AI’s new playground B.Deepfake: Human’s another helping hand
C.Artificial Intelligence: A piece of fake D.Detecting deepfake: An ongoing battle

文。
When I was seven years old, my family moved from Mexico to America. In Mexico, I was a cheerful girl
who loved making people laugh with my jokes and inventing fun games to play with my friends. However, when I
arrived in America, I found it hard to fit in, and I became quieter.
We lived in a small house with a modest yard where we grew vegetables—my responsibility. While I took
pride in watching them grow, there were times when I dreamed of having a beautiful garden like my schoolmate
Luella’s, with its delicate tulips (郁金香). Although Luella lived in the same neighborhood as me, we barely knew
each other.
It was after a tornado that Luella and I finally became close friends.
The tornado struck on a Sunday afternoon. The gentle breeze transformed into a strong wind, and thick gray
clouds filled the sky. Gradually, the tornado took shape, starting as a thin rope and growing into a large black funnel
(漏斗). My entire family gathered in the bathroom, seeking shelter from the storm. Terrified, I sat close to my
mom, knees in my chest. After the storm had passed, our worries and fears were replaced by relief that we were
unharmed and that our house had remained undamaged.
As I stepped outside, I witnessed the extent of the damage the tornado had caused to our neighborhood.
Across the street, a tall tree had fallen, crushing Luella’s garden in front of her yellow house. We hurried over to
check on it. Fortunately, her family seemed to be away at the time, and no one was injured. However, her once-
beautiful garden was in ruins, with the fallen tree destroying the tulips and debris (碎片) spread everywhere. I could
only imagine how heartbroken they must feel seeing this.
Then my mom’s usual words rang in my ear, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” and my family
started to think about how we could help.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Just at that moment, Luella’s family returned in their car.
