应用文范文:
Dear Chris,
I am writing to express my strong desire to join the English Literature Club, following my recent
participation in the appreciation event organized by the club. The event has left a deep impression on me and
I have gained a lot from it. Joining the club will provide me with a wonderful opportunity to enhance my
knowledge about English literature and explore the world of literature together with like-minded individuals.
I kindly request your approval to become a member of the club. I am eager to contribute to the club’s
activities and participate actively in its events.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
Li Hua

Paragraph1:
Suddenly, I felt several gentle hands on my arms. Voices enveloped me, and a warm hand took hold of mine.
Through tear-filled eyes, I looked up at concerned faces. The teacher and some of my classmates had followed me.
“Please don’t quit, ”one of them said firmly. “You can do it. Come on! ” All of a sudden, the feeling of being like
an orphan disappeared. My heart was filled with warmth. Greatly encouraged and deeply moved, I bravely
returned to the stage after drying my tears. The rehearsals eventually went on smoothly, setting the stage for the
final performance.
Paragraph 2:
The day finally arrived and the performance received a warm response. The audience exploded in thunderous
cheers and the teacher smiled with great satisfaction, as if saying “Great job!”. Getting off the stage, our
classmates hugged each other excitedly, feeling proud of ourselves. I felt like a bird soaring through the sky. From
that day on, whenever I encountered discouragement, I persevered. I will never forget that I was once a “talentstar” who managed to rise and shine through my own efforts, with the guidance of an exceptional teacher and the
unexpected support of classmates.

Text 10
The Niagara Falls is between Canada and the United States in the east central North America. It's on a river
that connects two of the five Great Lakes. The Niagara Falls has two parts: the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian
side of the river, and the American Falls on the United States' side. They are about 50 meters high, 1,240 meters
wide. The Niagara Falls has three special falls. The tallest are the American and Bridal Veil falls on the American
side. The falls are colorfully lit up at night, and many people say they’re even more beautiful in winter, when
the ground is covered with snow and the waters turn to ice. Most visitors go as close to the falls as possible, and
watch the waters thundering down. Above in the air, you will understand the real differences between the
American and Canadian Falls. The American Falls get only about 10% of the water, while the Canadian Falls get
90%.
