A 篇:Sydney Opera House Tours
21 题答案:C 根据文中 “The Essential Tour” 的价格信息 “Adults $35/Online $29.75” 以及 “Discounts: Children of
16 and under $24.50” 可知,一对夫妇在网上购买 “The Essential Tour” 门票需花费$29.75×2 = $59.5,幼儿园年龄的
22 题答案:A 由文中 “The Backstage Tour” 部分的“For safety reasons, children of 12 years old and under are not
permitted.” 表明 12 岁及以下儿童不允许参加,所以只有青少年及以上年龄段的人才被允许参加。 A 选项正确;
“The Backstage Tour” 明确说明 “Prices: $155. No discounts”,没有提供折扣,B 选项错误;由 “Prior bookings are
required!” 可知,后台之旅需要提前预订,C 选项错误;由“It is a unique opportunity to experience the real - life

footsteps of world - class singers, dancers and musicians, followed by fine food and music in the Bennelong Dining Room.
What could be better than a treat of delicious light snacks and soft drinks followed by a live recital by a leading Australian
singer?”

The family of three from the UK set out on their search to recreate Captain Cook’s
voyage around the globe, which ended up taking a decade instead of the promised three years. While her parents
described the opportunity as a “privilege” (特权), Suzanne compared it to being locked up in prison.(这个来自英国
故选A项。
The waves became bigger and finally one crashed over the boat,” she recalled. “I
was thrown against the ceiling of the cabin, cracking my skull and breaking my nose. Three days later, we found a
little island where I had multiple head operations consciously.”(“海浪变得越来越大,最终一个巨浪拍打到了船上,”
Suzanne’s book instantly became a bestseller and her tale touched the hearts of
millions, with thousands of online fans applauding her for her bravery.”
When Suzanne Heywood was seven, she was pulled out of school to go on a
three-year voyage around the world. The family of three from the UK set out on their search to recreate Captain Cook’
s voyage around the globe, which ended up taking a decade instead of the promised three years.(当Suzanne Heywood
In order to get through her “very strange” childhood, Suzanne was determined to get
an education, which was her only hope to lead a normal life.(为了度过她那“非常奇怪”的童年,Suzanne决心接受教
Despite the gaps in her education, Suzanne eventually landed a spot
at Oxford University and after saving up money she’d earned working on a farm, Suzanne bought a one-way plane
ticket back to the UK.(尽管她的教育经历有中断,Suzanne最终还是获得了牛津大学的入学资格。
C 29. A 30. D 31. B
D 33. C 34. D 35. A

I start my day with myself to check in and meet my needs first, and then continue with my responsibilities

ve been setting time aside for my alone time.

herself becoming more and more engaged in this practice with Mr. Thompson. As Lily continued her daily runs,
something remarkable started to happen. Lily’s once imitable personality slowly began to disappear, and she
apologized to her parents for her former rudeness. Her grades remained consistently high with a changed lifestyle.

M: At least 3 meters. But today’s flats usually have ceilings no higher than 2. 7 meters, and some only 2. 3.

W: Will you go to the cinema this Saturday, Bob?
M: I’m afraid I can’t. I’ll have my music lessons then
W: I didn’t mean in the morning or afternoon. I meant in the evening.
M: Oh, that’s quite a different thing.

W: Hi. Tom. What did you do last Saturday?
M: I camped out in the suburbs of Beijing by joining a making-friend group.
W: Oh, really? It is so called “Flash Play”?
M: Yeah. I had doubt about it before. But now, I think it is a good way to make friends.
W: Absolutely. Some of my friends have such experiences. But I prefer to go out by myself.
M: Ha-ha, you are out. Now it is economic crisis. Everyone wants to save money but also wants to go out for fun.
“Flash Play” can keep your money in your pocket. If you are upset, maybe they can make you happy.

M: Fikky, what’s going on? Freggis just told me that you’re leaving us.
W: Yes, I really feel bad about it. But B. N. D. came up with really good offer
M: Well, I didn’t know you were going to look for a new job.
W: Well, just between you and me. I think we have some real problems in this department. Don’t get me wrong. It has
nothing to do with you, Frank. Everybody says you are an excellent manager.
M: Problems, what problems? Do we have time to talk about it?

W: Let me tell you some of our policies and practices here at Globe Insurance.
M: All right.
W: We require all our employees to arrive on time for work. Employee character is very important to us. We expect
everyone here at Globe Insurance to be hardworking, easy-going and honest.
M: I’m glad to hear that.
W: We also try to do the best we can for our employees. We make every effort to listen to our employees’ concerns. Is
there any additional information I can provide?
M: Yes, as a matter of fact, I have two questions. First, could you tell me whether I would be required to have a
medical examination before I start work?
W: Yes, of course
M: And would it be necessary for me to work on weekends?
W: No. that wouldn’t be necessary
M: I see. Well, I’ve probably taken up enough of your time. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
W: We’ll be in touch with you shortly.

W: Well, I’m really worried about how I’m going to deal with university life. Maybe if I knew the university a bit
better, that might help
M: Do you have a map of the university?
W: Yes.
M: Well, let’s look at it together. OK, we are here now in Dalton House. Opposite this building is the Arts Block
where you will find the computers. The computer rooms are open from 9: 00 a. m. till 8: 00 p. m. on weekdays.
W: Fine.
M: Another important building is the students’ union. To get to the students’ union you keep going down University
Lane, past the Science Block on your left. Opposite the Science Block are the Chemistry labs and the students’ union

W: Fine. But I get a bit confused about the directions.
M: Probably the best thing to do is to walk around and familiarize yourself with everything. Now I need you to fill in
this form. Take it away with you and then make an appointment to see me again and we’ll go over it. My telephone
number is on the form. You can ring me anytime, except on Thursday.

M: Back to the news. Last Friday a storm hit two villages destroying fourteen houses. Seven others were so badly
damaged that their owners had to leave them, and fifteen others had broken windows. One person was killed, and nine
were badly injured and taken to hospital. A number of other people received small injuries. Altogether over two
hundred were left homeless as a result of the storm. A farmer said the storm began early in the morning and lasted
over an hour. He was in the kitchen with his wife and his children when they heard a loud noise. A few minutes later
their house fell down on top of them. They managed to climb out but then he saw that one of his children was missing.
He went back inside and found him safe but very frightened. A woman said that her husband had just left for work
when she noticed that her house was shaking. She rushed outside immediately with her children. There was no time
for her to take anything. A few minutes later, the roof came down. Soldiers went to the area to help the people in
trouble.
