Keep away from the flu

Doctor: What’s the matter?

Lingling: I have a fever and a bad headache.

Doctor: Let me see… Well, it looks like you have the flu.

Look! These are viruses. They can give you the flu.

Viruses are very small. You can’t see them at all. They fly into your body from your mouth and nose.

You may get a runny nose and a sore throat. You may also have a headache. Sometimes you can have a cough and a fever, too.

Doctor: Take this medicine and get lots of sleep.

Lingling: OK. But how can I stay away from the flu, doctor?

Doctor: Eat healthy food and do sport. Then you’ll be healthy and strong.

远离流感

医生：你哪里不舒服？

玲玲：我发烧，头还疼得厉害。

医生：让我看一看…… 嗯，你好像得了流感。

看！这些就是病毒。它们会让我们患上流感。

病毒特别微小，我们完全看不见它们。它们会通过嘴巴和鼻子进入我们的身体。

你可能会流鼻涕、喉咙疼，也可能会头痛。有时候，你还会咳嗽、发烧。

医生：吃下这个药，多睡觉休息。

玲玲：好的。可是医生，我要怎样才能远离流感呢？

医生：吃健康的食物，多做运动。这样你就会身体健康、身体强壮。

Mary’s eyes

Mary: Mum, can I go to the zoo today?

Grandma: Mary, it’s me, Grandma.

Mary: Oh, sorry, Grandma! You’re not Mum!

Mum: What’s the matter, my dear?

Mary: Oh, Mum, you’re here. I can’t see well. Yesterday, Miss Green wrote a “3” on the blackboard. But I saw an “8”…

Mum: Don’t worry. Let’s go to the doctor.

Doctor: Mary, do you often read in dark places?

Mary: Yes, I like reading in bed at night.

Doctor: And do you watch a lot of TV?

Mary: Yes, I like watching TV, too.

Doctor: OK. Something is wrong with your eyes. But it’s not a big problem. They can get better. Do eye exercises every day. And don’t read in the dark. Go out often and look far away.

Mum: You should take care of your eyes.

玛丽的眼睛

妈妈：别担心，我们去看医生。

医生：玛丽，你经常在光线暗的地方看书吗？

玛丽：是的，我喜欢晚上躺在床上看书。

医生：那你是不是看很长时间电视？

玛丽：对，我也喜欢看电视。

医生：好的。你的眼睛出了一点小毛病，不过问题不大，是可以变好的。每天做眼保健操，不要在暗处看书。多出门，多向远处眺望。

妈妈：你要好好爱护自己的眼睛。
