Hi Lingling!

How are you now? We are all worried about your leg.

Sam and Amy took us around London. What a wonderful city it is! We had a good view from the London Eye. We saw Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge. Do you remember the song “London Bridge is falling down”? There are lots of bridges in London. We went to Tower Bridge and had a walk on its glass floor. What a great view! But I was a little scared! I kept thinking about the song and said, “Don’t fall down, please!” Sam laughed and said, “Don’t worry. This isn’t London Bridge.”

We took many photos and Bobo put you in them. Now you are here with us in London!

萨姆和艾米带我们游览了伦敦。这真是一座美丽的城市！我们在伦敦眼上欣赏了美丽的风景，看到了大本钟、白金汉宫和塔桥。你还记得《伦敦桥要塌了》这首歌吗？伦敦有很多桥。我们去了塔桥，还在它的玻璃步道上走了一走，景色美极了！但是我有一点害怕！我一直想着那首歌，嘴里念叨：“千万不要塌下来呀！”萨姆笑着说：“别担心，这不是伦敦桥。”  

我们拍了很多照片，波波把你放进了照片里。现在就好像你和我们一起来到了伦敦！

Hi there. I’m now in China. I will ride around the country. It won’t be easy because China is so big! It is a beautiful and interesting place. I just want to see it with my own eyes. Good luck to me!

It’s very hot today. I lost my water bottle. I went to a house by the road for help. I can’t speak any Chinese, but they got it! They gave me some water. To my surprise, they also asked me to stay for lunch. The food was so good! I had a special taste of China! How lucky I am!

Thursday, 13 April

I’m in Yunnan now. It’s the Water-splashing Festival! People get together to celebrate the Dai New Year. They splash water on each other. To them, this will bring good luck to others. I get water all over me. How lucky I am!

大家好！我现在在中国。我打算骑车环游中国。这一定不容易，因为中国太大了！这里美丽又有趣，我想亲眼看一看这片土地。祝我好运！

今天天气很热。我的水瓶弄丢了。我走到路边一户人家求助。我一点儿中文都不会说，但是他们看懂了我的难处！他们给了我水喝。让我意外的是，他们还留我吃午饭。饭菜特别好吃！我品尝到了地道的中国味道！我真的太幸运了！  

4月13日 星期四 

我现在在云南。这里正在举办泼水节！人们聚在一起庆祝傣族新年，互相泼水。对当地人来说，泼水可以为彼此带来好运。我全身都被泼湿了，我真的太幸运了！

History: Famous travellers

There were many great travellers in the past. People today love their stories. They helped us learn a lot.

In 138 BC, Zhang Qian travelled from Chang’an (today’s Xi’an) to the west. His trips took him across huge deserts and over high mountains. He went to different places and learnt about their cultures. His trips helped the opening of the Silk Road.

Marco Polo was famous for his travel on the Silk Road. He was one of the first Europeans to visit China. He came to China in 1275 and stayed for 17 years. He wrote about his exciting life in China at the time.

历史：著名的旅行家

古时候有许多伟大的旅行家，现在的人们都很喜欢他们的故事，我们也能从中学到很多知识。  

公元前138年，张骞从长安，也就是现在的西安，出发前往西域。他穿越广袤的沙漠、翻越高耸的群山，去往各地，了解不同的风土人情。他的出行，为丝绸之路的开通打下了重要基础。  

马可·波罗因沿丝绸之路旅行闻名世界。他是最早来到中国的欧洲人之一。他在1275年来到中国，在这里生活了17年。他写下了自己在中国精彩有趣的生活经历。
