第一节(满分15分)
One possible version:
Ways to Relieve Stress
A survey on stress-relief methods reveals that 35% of the students find relief by
playing games. Additionally, 28% of the participants turn to listening to music, while
20% and 10% choose videos and physical activities respectively.
While games, videos and music are enjoyable, over-reliance on them may distract our
attention from our studies and daily lives. By contrast, doing sports can enhance both our
physical and mental health. Therefore, it’s advisable that our school should launch more
activities, such as a sports meet and outdoor activities.
Hopefully, these practices can not only help us students handle stress more effectively,
but also contribute to our overall development.
第二节(满分25分)
One possible version:
On the weekend he collected the bags and took them to the rubbish dump.
Undoubtedly, the once-smelly patch was transformed, with almost no trash left on the ground.
Inspired by the clean scene unfolding before him, he was determined to fill his nine and a half
minutes in his own way. With constant efforts, the patch eventually turned into an engaging spot
that no one could pass without taking a second look. Eyes widened, the kids who had once teased
Pete were now astonished by the impressive and unbelievable transformation. Compliments
flooded in for Pete, the persistent guardian who was dedicated to environmental conservation. Now these kids aren’t going to let anyone mess the place up. Eagerly, they created a
striking billboard that reads “Pete’s Patch”, with a highlighted supplement: “Litter-Free”. Fueled
by boundless energy, they even built a wooden fence to encircle the patch, while Pete, who has a
deep love for flora, sowed flower seeds within. Time skipping by, the once-messy place has
blossomed into a lively garden, becoming a refreshing oasis for weary bus commuters. “True
beauty is created by loving and creative hands,” Pete thought, a wave of heartfelt affection
washing over him.

M: Well, I intended to play football with friends, but I have an English exam next Monday so I
have got to review my notes.
Text 2
M: Nancy, what’s in the mailbox?
W: It’s a letter of congratulations from my teacher. I won the first prize in the national writing
competition last month. He praises my writing style.
Text 3
W: Excuse me. Could you please tell me the way to the school library?
M: Sure. Turn right when you walk out of this gym, pass a supermarket and the library is on your
left.
Text 4
W: I’m starving. Where should we eat today? The Italian restaurant near the park, the French one
next to the shopping mall or the new Chinese one downtown?
M: I’m in the mood for Chinese. The reviews of that new place say their dumplings are amazing.
W: Great! Let’s go there then.
Text 5
W: Good morning, National Museum of China.
M: Hello, could you tell me your opening hours for Sundays?
W: Sure. We are open from 9:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.
M: Thanks.
Text 6
M: What are you going to do this afternoon? Would you like to shop with me?
W: Well, I’m going to practice baseball with my friend later.
M: What time is your baseball practice this evening?
W: Helen asked me to practice at her house at 5:00 p.m.
M: That’s fine. I can drop you off there after we finish shopping. You might be a bit early. Can
you ask Helen if that’s okay?
W: Sure. Shall I call her?
M: Of course.
W: But my phone is in the car. I’ll call her later.
Text 7
W: Hi, did you see the new poster about animal protection on the school notice board?
M:Yeah, it is really eye-catching. The pictures of those endangered animals are heartbreaking.
W: Exactly! The one with the polar bear on a melting iceberg really strikes me. It really showshow human activities are affecting them.
M: I agree. Did you notice the call-to-action at the bottom?
W: You mean the part about signing up for the animal protection club? I’m definitely considering
it.
M: Me too. Maybe we can also share the poster on social media to spread the word.
W: That’s a brilliant idea. More people need to be aware of this urgent issue.
Text 8
W:Good afternoon, welcome to our hotel.
M: Hi, I’d like to check in. I heard you have some special offers for guests. Could you tell me
about them?
W: Certainly. If you book a room for three nights or more, we offer a free breakfast.
M: That sounds nice. Anything else?
W:Yes. We have a free bus service to and from the airport and major tourist attractions in the city.
This can save you a lot on transportation costs.
M: Great. I’m also interested in the hotel’s dining options. Do you have any discounts for guests?
W: As a hotel guest, you’ll receive a 10% discount for one night, 15% for two nights, 20% for
three or more at all of our restaurants, including the one on the top floor.
M: Oh, that’s wonderful. What about other facilities like the fitness center?
W:The fitness center is free to all guests. We also provide free towels and water bottles there.
M: Sounds amazing. I think I’ll have a very comfortable stay here for three nights.
Text 9
M: Great news! The organizers of The Christmas Market have given us the green light to perform
some songs at the market in December.
W: Brilliant! That will really help to raise our theater’s company image.
M: I know. The Christmas Market is really busy. Hundreds of people shopping there will hear our
company singing.
W: And it will help boost the new members’ confidence.
M: Even better...the lead actors are happy to sing at The Christmas Market too! They’re both
famous enough to attract many journalists, and hopefully that will mean increased ticket sales!
W: Okay, it’s very exciting, so we need to make sure that everything is prepared. We’ll need a
tight practice schedule between now and December. If we’re going to go public with some of
our material, it’s got to look really good!
M: Absolutely. And we need to make the costume department work hard so all the actors will
look convincing.
W: Right. I’m going to call a meeting with the sound and lighting engineers to check out the
location. It’s important that the visuals and the sound quality are perfect on that day!
