Today, I will talk about Confucius, a renowned Chinese philosopher. Confucius, or Kong Zi, was an influential educator who dedicated his life to teaching and spreading wisdom. He emphasized moral values, respect for elders, and the pursuit of knowledge. Traveling throughout the country, he profoundly impacted Chinese society, shaping the education system and influencing ethics and social harmony. To this day, his ideas continue to guide individuals and communities in China and beyond, offering valuable lessons on integrity, compassion and social responsibility. Thanks for listening and may we all continue to learn from the profound insights into Confucius. Version 2 2026 届摸底考试英语参考答案 第 1 页 共 5 页I am Li Hua, honored to represent my class in this competition. Today, I will talk about Li Shimin, an admirable figure to you. Li Shimin, well known as Tang Taizong, was a great emperor of the Tang dynasty. Unlike other cruel dominator, he loved and cared for his citizens from heart, which touches me a lot. To better their lives, he decreased taxes and spared no efforts to promote agriculture. Besides economy, he emphasized on culture and education. He developed “Kejuzhi”, a similar examination system as Gaokao, enormously pushing Chinese culture forward. It was his diligence and intelligence that created the prosperous period known as “Zhenguan Zhi Zhi” Thanks for listening and may we all continue to learn from the historical figure. 第二节(满分 25 分) We sat down next to each other, but David wouldn't look at me. His head was bowed low, and his hands were nervously picking at the grass. I put my hand on his back, trying to comfort him. “David, what’s wrong? You’ve worked so hard for this race,” I said softly. He looked up at me with sad eyes. “I’m scared. The other kids run so fast, and I’m so slow. They’ll laugh at me,” he said. I smiled at him, saying, “David, it doesn’t matter how fast you run. What matters is that you try your best. And I know you can do it.” After a long moment, he took a deep breath and said, “Okay, I’ll run.” I watched as David moved up to the starting line with the other runners. His small figure looked a bit lost among the others, but there was a determined look on his face. The starting gun went off, and the runners took off. David started running, his legs moving as fast as they could. He was far behind the others, but he didn’t give up. As he ran, some kids from other schools pointed and laughed. But David just focused on the finish line. When he finally crossed it, his classmates cheered loudly. That day, David, tired but happy, learned that being brave and finishing what you start is more important than winning. 听力原文: Text 1【原文】W: Have you finished the article you promised to write for our magazine, Stephen? M: I won’t be able to get to it until after my exams Kelly, if that’s okay with you. Text 2 M: Miss Lauren, why has my seats been moved to the front row? Everyone else is sitting in their original seats? 2026 届摸底考试英语参考答案 第 2 页 共 5 页W: If you choose to talking in class instead of listening Tom your seat will be moved closer to me, so I can see you better. Text 3 M: I need to leave work early today, Mary. Please tell me the urgent things. W: Sure, but you have an appointment with Mr. black at four PM. M: Well, please make it another day. Text 4 W: Did you watch the talk show on channel twelve last night? M: Yes, it is fantastic and has introduced me to many excellent authors and good books. W: I couldn’t agree more. My favorite author will attend the show tonight, I’m looking forward to it. Text 5 M: Thank you for inviting me over for dinner this evening. W: You’re welcome. Well, help yourself to some fish I bought it at the seafood market. It’s so fresh. M: Emm, so delicious. Text 6 M: I can’t believe the electricity is off and that we can’t use the air conditioner, Lily. It’s burning hot today. You see I’ve opened all the Windows, but it doesn’t help. W: Yes, this heat wave is killing me. Would you mind opening the door behind you, John? M: Of course not. Hey what’s going on? I can’t get it open? I guess we have got to call someone up for help. W: Why don’t we call the repair man? M: Good idea. Wait a minute. Do you remember his phone number? W: Sorry. I don’t. Maybe Mary has it. Mom always said she was the most careful of her children. I’ll ring her. Text 7 M: Hello, is that Amy brown? W: Yes, what can I do for you now? M: Well, I thought I found your credit card under the table in my store. W: Oh yes. M: You must have been worried when you found it missing, so I tried to get your phone number from the name you had left with me. W: Thank you. I appreciate your calling me. I’ve almost called the bank to report the loss of my card . M: When can you come here and pick it up? W: I have a meeting this afternoon. I think I can go tomorrow. You must be excited. M: Excited and nervous. You know I have to work on some basic conversation skills. I’m going to take a special language class next month. W: I wish I were as gifted as you in foreign languages. I would also love to further my study abroad. M: Then, why don’t you, Sophia? The school has a lot of programs that don’t require mastery of a foreign language. They’re suitable for the kind of person who is eager to learn new things and can get used to a new environment fast. You are exactly that kind of person. W: I thought all programs required one to know a foreign language. Thank you for letting me know this. Maybe I should try traveling abroad at first. I think it might be unpleasing and I don’t want to be late for work or make someone 2026 届摸底考试英语参考答案 第 4 页 共 5 页else late. M: Why do you think so? I’ve been sharing rides to work with my neighbors for five years. W: How do you feel, Ethan? M: It has saved us lots of money and time. I dropped Melissa off at children’s hospital and then Andrew at a school, then I drive to my company. W: Do you miss your alone time? M: Now, we normally can pour out our hearts and I’ve got rid of my unpleasant feelings by the time I get out of the car. W: Maybe I should try it. M: It’s important to choose the right people to share a ride with you. Can put an ad in your neighborhood? W: Yes, I’m in a community group. By the way, how much should I charge for one person? M: I charge three dollars one way five dollars a day. W: I see. Thank you. Text 10 One of the most powerful parts in body language is eye contact. Americans are careful about how and when they meet one another’s eyes. In conversation, eye contact lasts only about a second before one or both people look away. When two Americans look searchingly into each other’s eyes, emotions become stronger and the relationship becomes closer. Therefore, they carefully avoid this except in proper situations. Proper behavior on the street in the United States requires a nice balance of attention and inattention. You are supposed to look at a passerby just enough to show that you’re aware of his presence. If you look too little, you appear too proud and if you look too much you’ re too curious. Usually what happens is that people watch each other, until they are about eight feet apart at which point both cast down their eyes. In parts of the far east it is impolite to look at the other person at all during conversation. In England the polite listener stares at the speaker carefully as a sign of interest. But that says nothing to Americans who expect the listener to nod or to say something softly such as “mm-hum” and “aha”. 2026 届摸底考试英语参考答案 第 5 页 共 5 页
