Dear Tobby,
How are you? AI like Deepseek is changing our world. For example, doctors use it to
find diseases faster, and teachers use it to make classes more fun. But some problems worry
people. If AI does many jobs, workers might lose their work. Also, someone could steal our
private data online. I think we should use AI carefully. Governments need clear rules, and
schools should teach students about AI. If we balance new ideas with safety, our future can be
brighter. What do you think?
Please write back soon!

第二节 读后续写 (满分 25 分)
When no one noticed her, Lily felt even more ashamed. She pulled her hat down, feeling
some tears welling up in her eyes. The cheers for the badminton star pierced her ears like
needles. She glanced down at her empty hands—no medals, no glory, just the bitter taste of
defeat. She felt frustrated as if she was forgotten in a distant corner while others shone
brightly. Lily was about to flee, when a soft voice "Lily" stopped her. Lily raised her head.
The stewardess June stood before her with a warm smile on her face.
June handed Lily a bunch of flowers and hugged her gently. Lily froze, her hands
trembling as the delicate flowers brushed her cheeks. Through unclear vision, she was
touched by the familiar sincere smile that had once greeted her victories. "Why...?" she
whispered weakly, holding the flowers like fragile hope. "You’ve always been beautiful,"
June said softly, "not because of medals, but because you rise when you fall." Lily felt a sense
of warmth rising in her heart. And the flowers’ strong fragrance seemed to turn into a
powerful force that went through her body. And immediately, she understood true beauty
grew not from unbroken triumphs, but from the courage to rise and persist.

Text 1
W: My mother used to take care of me when I was running a fever. She can’t help now as I’m away at
university!
M: I understand. But you’ve got a great group of friends. Any of us would be glad to help.
W: Thanks. You guys are so thoughtful! (1)
Text 2
W: Just get up there and play your instrument as best you can. Don’t be worried, Daniel.
M: I know what I need to do. I just feel so shy about everyone looking at me now! (2)
W: That’s because they’re excited and expecting to hear the most beautiful music.
Text 3
W: You’ve made great progress in the last two weeks, William. We can delay our next health check-up.
Shall we meet again one month from today?
M: Can we put it off for another two weeks? I’ll be out of town this time next month.
W: No problem. (3)
Text 4
M: Nancy, remember to look others in the eye while talking to them. Then, warmly smile and shake
their hands, if possible. This is important for work, school, and various social situations. (4)
W: That’s good advice. Thanks. I’ll give it a shot.
Text 5
W: Hi, sir. Do you have any mail for me today?
M: Sorry, Miss. I only have mail in my bag for the houses next to yours. Hopefully, I can deliver what
you’re waiting for tomorrow morning!
W: OK. Just leave it here at the door. I’ll be out shopping then. (5)
Text 6 (第 6 题为总结题)
M: China has the world’s longest, fastest, and highest trains. How cool that is!
W: Yeah. I’ve heard about China’s high-speed rail system. That’s really impressive! I’ve always wanted to
experience a ride on a high-speed train.
M: Well, most of these developments have happened within the last 15 years.
W: Train travel is a great way to see a country. But would there be difficulties if you don’t speak Chinese?
M: I read that all the train stations have announcements and signs in Chinese and English.
W: Amazing! I’d love to travel through China someday, but for now, let’s focus on this trip to Tokyo. (7)
Text 7
W: So, your company made the decision to close its office building? Where does the staff work now?
M: We’ve started a “work from home” program. But, personally, I prefer coffee shops. (8)
W: That’s quite interesting. I’m not sure if I could effectively manage my time in that kind of place. My
office provides a quiet and focused environment. I really love that. (9)
M: I understand. I miss having a team and some of the free office snacks. But coffee shops offer more
freedom.
W: For our jobs in website design, (10) we can do tasks alone. But for those people who work in medicine
or education, they always have to meet others.
Text 8
W: John, (12) (13) it’s almost 8:00 p.m., well past dinner time! Why are you getting home so late?
M: Sorry, Mom. I stayed late at the library studying for an upcoming exam.
W: I understand your studies are important, but you seem very stressed. That concerns me most. I’m
getting nervous about the state of your mind. (11)
M: I just really want to do well in these tests and get perfect grades.
W: Undoubtedly, but your father and I are proud of your effort, not just your scores.
M: Thanks, Mom. Has Dad returned from his office yet? (12)
W: He just got home half an hour ago. But he’s still busy with a report from work. (12)
M: I suppose we are all tired.
W: Yes. We all need some relaxation. Let’s go to bed before 10:00 p.m. and have a long good rest
tonight. (13)
M: Sure. (13)
Text 9
W: Have you walked around Fran’s new apartment at the house-warming party? She discovered so many
creative ways to decorate it.
M: I know! Among all of our friends, she has the most beautiful home.
W: Tell you what, I heard about some nice and cheap home products from the person sitting across
from me in the office. (14) Let’s search for them online and see if we can order some!
M: OK! I saw an advertisement for affordable chairs and kitchen tables. Would that be of interest to you?
W: I’m mostly looking for new lights for my apartment. (15)
M: Ah, how about I give you a ride to a nearby store? (16) Then, we can explore a wide range of options
in person.
W: That’d be great. (16) That way, a store manager or salesperson can help recommend special designs.
M: But it might end up being a bit costly. Will you need me to help pay for everything?
W: No, but I truly appreciate the offer. You’re such a generous older brother. (17)
M: I’m glad to help!
Text 10 (第 18 题为总结题)
Have you ever heard of a truly wonderful place called the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland? (19) This
place has been shown in many movies, nature magazines, and travel shows. And this area is where I grew
up 40 years ago. Walking on the huge rocks, you can see the beautiful ocean over 200 meters below.
Plus, you can feel nature’s power from the wind blowing and seawater crashing into rocks. (19)
Growing up just five kilometers away from this area, my family and I would often come here and walk the
20-kilometer path looking for sheep, birds, and dolphins.
With over one million people visiting yearly, the Cliffs of Moher has become one of the most visited
places in Ireland. It’s one of the places that show the power and beauty of Irish nature. I hope you can visit
here one day and take a long walking tour or a boat ride. But most importantly, make sure you visit the
visitors’ center. (20) There, you can learn about the area’s unique history and environment.
