第一节
“Trash to Treasure” Contest, a Hit at Our School
Last week, our school held a fun “Trash to Treasure” contest. By encouraging students to make art from trash, it
inspired us to care for the Earth and reuse things.
Students made all kinds of amazing things. There were sculptures from old cans, colorful paintings made with
used paper, and even a cool chair made from leftover wood. Everyone showed how you can make something
beautiful from trash.
Students really loved the contest. They said it was a great way to learn about recycling and to be creative at the
same time. The contest was a big success and made us all think about how we can help the environment.
第二节
Suddenly, disaster hit! My foot caught on a tree root hidden in the grass, and I fell to the ground. Pain shot
through my ankle, and I knew I had twisted it badly. I looked up to see the tall boy who had been leading the race
stop and turn back to help me. His eyes widened with concern, and he quickly moved towards me, his forehead
wrinkled with a worried frown. He offered his hand, and with his support, I managed to stand, but I was limping.
He didn’t leave me there; instead, he helped me continue the race, sacrificing his own chance at victory.
Little by little, we neared the finish line. The tall boy slowed down, but his act of helping me was a display of
true courage. He told me to keep trying, even though walking was hard. The people clapped and cheered all
together as we got closer to the end. I learned that in tough times, it’s not just about winning or losing; it’s about
being friends and playing fair that counts. When we reached the finish line, I felt happy inside, happier than any
prize could make me. I understood that in sports, as in life, it’s not always about who comes first, but about who you
become along the way.
