第一节
Dear fellow students,
With the global popularity of DeepSeek, open source, which means making the source code available for others
to use and improve, has become a hot topic.
Open source encourages collaboration and innovation. It allows developers worldwide to contribute, leading to
the rapid development of technology. For example, many useful software and tools are the result of open source
projects.
From my perspective, open source represents an outstanding approach. Not only does it break down barriers,
but it also facilitates the sharing of knowledge. Professional developers and enthusiasts alike are provided with
opportunities. Moreover, it has the potential to drive the progress of the entire industry. Let’s pay more attention to
open source and see how it will change our world.
Thank you!
第二节
A few months passed quickly, and the time came for the old farmer to return to his old farm. As he drove his
old caravan towards the familiar place, his heart was filled with anticipation. His old dog beside him seemed to
sense his excitement. When he arrived, the kids rushed towards him, shouting “Grandfather” ! The young man and
wife greeted him with warm smiles. The old farmer noticed that the farm had been well taken care of. The
vegetable rows were neatly arranged, and the orchard was full of green leaves. “You’ve done a great job,” he said.
“We’ve been trying our best,” the young wife replied. “This place is our home now, and we love it.” The old farmer
was touched by their words.
As the days went by, the young family and the old farmer grew closer. They would often sit together in the
evenings, sharing stories. The young man would play his guitar, and the old farmer would sing along with the South
American tunes. The kids would listen attentively, their eyes wide with curiosity. The young wife continued to
cook delicious food for the old farmer. One day, while looking at the old papyrus on the wall, they all agreed that
love was indeed a powerful and beautiful thing. The old farmer felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that he
had found a new family to share his life with, and that his old farm was now filled with love and laughter.
A
根据文章“students in this summer program will explore key areas such as programming,
game design, and software engineering, with a focus on creating interactive and engaging digital
experiences.”
根据“There are no formal entry requirements for our education program other than the
Residential + Online Research Program: (6995 + 2000) × 0.8 = £7,196。
B
根据“I was fortunate to be raised in a traditional Karuk family—practicing dipnet fishing,
renewal ceremonies, and cultural fire in harmony with nature’s cycles.”和“Our relationship with salmon
is mutual; as long as we fish, the salmon will journey upriver to provide for us.”
根据“During the 2001 drought, tribes called for federal action to save the river. Initially,
the Bureau of Reclamation limited water deliveries to protect endangered fish, but farmers, fearing crop
failures due to water shortages, successfully pressured the Bush administration to change the decision.”
文章提到“Around a fire, we resolved to fight for dam removal, forming the Klamath
Justice Coalition”,
根据第一段“it strikes me that it’s a luxury we can’t afford to ignore, however busy we are.”
根据前文“Literacy grew in 18th-century Europe, but books remained expensive, and reading,
even for well-to-do women, was considered a luxury pursuit.”
Although France tightly controlled reading materials, the painting places reading on a par
with jewels or fine clothes.”,此处表达尽管法国严格控制阅读材料,但这幅画把阅读与珠宝或漂亮衣服
答案选 A。
根据文章“Reading has long been controlled because books reveal multiple worlds, showing
how lives can be caged or free. They provide access to knowledge, broadening our ability to think and act
“As palaeontologists, we have studied the fossil record of the deep past. We’ve now turned
our attention to the everyday objects, to see what kind of future fossils—we call them technofossils—they
will make.”和“Discarded aluminium cans are now everywhere.”以及“Tomorrow’s fossils are today’s
pollution.”
文章最后提到“Tomorrow’s fossils are today’s pollution”,“pollution(污染)”“damaging
上一句提到“Fortunately, walking speed can be improved through targeted training, which
G选项“Effective training is key to maintaining these
physical function and reducing health risks.”(有效的训练是保持身体机能和降低健康风险的关键。)
F选项“Multicomponent training including different exercises appears most effective.”(包含不同类型练
上文提到“Health guidelines suggest at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise per
week for those who are physically able.”(健康指南建议身体条件允许的人每周至少进行150分钟的中等
D选项“It especially helps those with long-term health conditions.”(这对患有长期健
C选项“However, recent studies suggest an alternative approach.”(然而,最近的研究提出了一种
40.A 主旨句。该段强调了肌肉训练的重要性,提到“Without regular training, muscle mass and strength
A选项Use it or lose it(不用就会失去。)
41. B 根据后文“I hung up the phone”(我挂了电话)可知,此处是在一次充满压力的电话“交谈”之后。
42. A 根据后文“It was more like a tear-filled complaint.”(这更像是充满泪水的抱怨)可知,作者发出的是
指带轮子的东西)”的意思(move along on or as if on wheels or a wheeled vehicle),这里表示把椅子推
44. D 根据后文列举的一系列问题 sick mom, 45 adult child, sick dog, daily treatments, and my car needs work.
child(失控的成年孩子)符合作者描述生活一团糟的语境,所以选 A。
I’m so tired.
She felt totally defeated, like there was no end to the stress.(她觉得完全被打败了,好像压力
B 根据前文“She looked at me quickly and held out an open hand…”(她迅速看着我,伸出一只张开的手)
53. C 根据前文 Joyce 的话 Inbox (邮箱) full or inbox empty? Those wise words have become a motto
(座右铭) for me(那些睿智的话语成了我的座右铭)可知,我明白了她的“意思”。
54. A 根据前文“Those wise words have become a motto (座右铭) for me.”(那些睿智的话语成了我的座右铭)
56. are being reimagined/are reimagined 分析句子结构,where ancient tales 56 (reimagine) through a
57. a This trend speaks to 57 deeper shift in China’s cultural landscape,
填a。
China’s record-breaking box office
62. to serve have the potential to do sth.
63. stories story
64. with 这里with its universal themes and emotional depth是介词短语作后置定语,修饰“Ne Zha

Text 10
W: Hello, I’m Victoria and I’m from Suriname. My question is, do you think poor people are happier than rich
people?
I believe this is a very difficult question to answer because the question contains some generalizations. Poor
people, and rich people are put together here, and they are compared as a group, which I think is not entirely
accurate because you have different types of poor people. You have poor people that are content with what they
have or don’t have, and when you are content, it contributes to your happiness.
By contrast, there are poor people that are not happy with their circumstances, understandably so, because let’s
take for example, people who live in areas without enough food or areas with natural disasters that have robbed them
of everything they have, their homes, their livelihood, their security, healthcare. I mean, it is understandable that
people become unhappy if they have to suffer.
On the other hand, you have rich people. I think there are a number of types of rich people. You have rich
people that are never satisfied, keep going after more and more and more, and those people tend to be unhappy. By
contrast, there might be rich people who have purpose and are content with what they have, which contributes to
their happiness. So I think it really depends on what type of poor people are being compared to what type of rich
people.
