Lu Canglong, a post-90s born in Lishui,Zhejiang Province, invented the“cloud-
maker”profession after getting inspiration from clouds. In 2015, Lu was shocked when he happened to
see a large evening cloud above his head.

and simulated(仿造）them and then stored them in a clear cube(立方体).Such simulated clouds have
become popular among his fans.
In 2019, Lu decided to give up his work because his spare time wasn't enough to make
enough clouds to meet the increasing need. In the winter of 2019,he opened his online store“Sky Fair"on
Taobao. In 2020 alone, he sold over200.000 “clouds" to more than 40,000 people across China,and sales
reached more than 1 million yuan.
Apart from cloud-makers, other creative professions have also appeared across China. Wen
Chenhua is anarmorsmith(铸甲师).He made his first armor in 2012. It was a Song-Dynasty style fish-
scale armor weighing 30kilos.It was sold for 80,000 yuan. Wen opened his Taobao store in 2014. His
yearly sales are around 6 million yuan now.
As of August 2021 , there were at least 200,000 creative culture shops on Taobao. Around 77
percent of these businesses were operated(经营)by people younger than 30.
Thanks to the huge population of Chinese customers as well as the massive(巨大的) traffic
on online shopping platforms,many new businesses and services are now able to thrive .
“In the age of the Internet,more and more people are able to take up a profession in which
their interest lies,"an industry insider said.
