all my hard work had paid off.It was also my teacher’s encouragement that made me where I am

A
根据KeensSteakhouseTEL(212)947-3636部分中的“Itisrenownedforits
mouthwateringsteaks,cookedtoperfection.”
根据 Momofuku Noodle Bar 部分中的“The casualandlively atmosphere
makesitagreatspotforaquickanddeliciousmeal.”
A 选项Elegant(优雅的)B 选项Old-world
(复古的)D 选项Energetic(充满活力的)。
故选A。
Thereweredayswhenhewanted
togiveup,especiallywhenhefacedchallengeslikeinjuriesandpoorraceresults.”
it.IneverthoughtIcoulddosomethinglikethis,buthereIam,”Johnsays.
根据第七段中的“He is planning to participate in an internationaltriathlon
eventnextyearandhopestoencourageotherstotakeupahealthylifestyle.”
根据第一段中的“The Twelve Muqam, which is known as the mother of
Uyghurmusic,isamusicalformthatconsistsofsungpoetry,storiesandmusic.”
paintings。故选A。
folk narrative, and popular topics such as the praise of love and reflectionon life, showing the
historyandpresent-daylifeoftheUyghursociety.
in Central, South, and West Asia, and North Africa, and along the ancient Silk Road running
acrosstheautonomousregion.”
areperformedsoloaswellasingroups.”
efforttopassonthisancientartperformancewithenergy.”
故选A。
D
根据第四段中的“The researchers used light pulse measurement and made
sure that there is still electron transfer in chloroplasts. Electron transfer is an important part in
photosynthesis. The confirmation of this phenomenon shows that the chloroplasts put into
hamstersarestilldoingphotosynthesis.
bigger. This directly proves that the photosynthesis of chloroplasts really makes nutrients, and
根据最后一段“This team is continuing to study how to create 'planar

M: Every October, farmers across the US harvest millions of pumpkins. Some are selected to win
contests like the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off held annually in Half
MoonBay,California.Celebratingits45thyearin2018,thecontesthasalways beenextremely
popularwith pumpkin growers. However,it hasbecome even more sosincesupermarketchain
Safeway, which sponsors the event, increased the maximum prize to $30,000 in 2015. To
qualify for this world record prize, competitors have to produce a world record pumpkin. In
2018, that meant one heavier than the huge 2,624-pound pumpkin, which broke the previous
world record at the Giant Pumpkin European Championship in 2016. If the heaviest pumpkin
weighs less, the owner receives $7 per pound, which, given the size of the gourds

The event, which took place on October 8th, 2018, attracted more than 20 huge pumpkins.
Though 12 came in at more than 1,000 pounds each, it was three-time winner Steven Daletas
