20-Year-Old Italian Driver Becomes Youngest F1 Champion

Twenty-year-old Italian driver Kimi Antonelli has become the youngest F1 world champion in history. On Sunday he finished third at the Mexican Grand Prix for Mercedes. At 20 years and 68 days, he broke the old record set by Sebastian Vettel in 2010. He is also the first Italian world champion in 73 years.

Antonelli won nine races this season and scored 380 points. He took his first win at the Chinese Grand Prix in March and called it 'the start of everything'. His racing number is 12, the same number used by his hero, Ayrton Senna.

Robots Race Up 3,100 Steps on Mount Tai

Can a robot climb a mountain? On Monday, nearly 90 robot teams tried at the first World Robot Mount Tai Competition in Shandong Province. The track runs from Red Gate to Zhongtianmen, about 3.9 kilometres long with more than 3,100 stone steps.

In the humanoid robot race, Team Zhishen Lingyue won in 27 minutes and 26 seconds. In the legged robot race, Team Lingyi from Beijing finished in 43 minutes and 41 seconds. Some robots even carried heavy bags, like the famous Mount Tai porters. One day, such robots may help with mountain rescue and carry heavy things for tired climbers.

How big can an umbrella business be? Every third umbrella in the world comes from Shaoxing, a city in Zhejiang Province. In the first nine months of this year, the city's umbrella exports were worth more than 1.5 billion yuan.

Selling online across borders is not cheap, so companies made umbrellas smaller: the middle pole now folds into three parts, cutting the size by about 40 percent. Better fabrics help too. A new coating keeps people cooler under the sun. Customers now pay 200 to 300 dollars for one good umbrella. A small umbrella, it turns out, can hold a very big business.
