The next day, the deliveryman returned the picture book, saying the girl could not be
reached. The boy felt that what they had done was wrong and that the picture book should fly
to the little girl by itself. So he wrote a note as well, reading“I’m sorry to have kept you
waiting.IttookmesomedaystopractiseflyingsothatIcouldflytoyourhouse.”Theboyput
it in the book and took them to the little girl’s house. But there was no one at home. Her
neighbor told him that the girl’s mother was in hospital and that she had to stay with her. To
make sure the book could fly onto the girl’s hands, he decided to pay a visit to her house after
schooleveryday.
Until one day the big boy heard a woman and a girl talking in the girl’s house. He
knocked at the door and heard someone answer it. He gently laid the picture book at the door,
and quickly hid himself behind the house. The girl came out and looked around, only to find
