The Laramie County Library S y stem (LCLS ) hosted some very special guests from
C o lorado on M a rch 28. The Rocky M o untain Raptor P r ogram ( RMRP)presented an educational

demonstration to the staff and sponsors at the main LCLS library in Chevenne, W oming
“It was really amazing to not only learn about the raptors(猛禽),but to also get to see
them up close,” said Janey Vanlandingham, a staff member of the LCLS. “It was also great to
see the kid s ' reactions, curiosity and interest i n the program.”

The RMRP is an organization that specializes in the recovery of raptors. M ny of these
hypercarnivorous(超食肉) birds are retuned to the wild after receiving care and recovering

f om their inju ies, but others become educational ambassadors and teach people about raptors,
o
conservation, and the environment . Three RMRP Educati nal Ambassadors accompanied the
e
four RMFP volunteers, Anna W llborn, Susan Baker, Maya Dite- Shepard, and Christine
Chapman at the event. Educational Ambassadors included Watson, a golden eagle; Pe rsephone,
a turkey vulture (秃鹫);and Eowyn,a Swainson's hawk.
