This year, our city is carrying out a program, which called on everyone to throw rubbish into the right dustbin
according to the four categories. Teachers and students in our school takes part in the activity actively.
In order to protect our environment, the waste classification activity was launched last month in our city.
People are required to sort garbage into different categories such as harmful waste, recyclables and kitchen
waste, each of which is supposed to be thrown into a different bin. At first, people are confused about which
category the rubbish belonged to, but with the help of the posters, we're doing a much better job now.
Waste Classification is environmentally friendly. In the long run,the result is well worth our efforts.
Let's work together to make our city more beautiful!

M: Hey, Ranae. Do you know where the church is? It’s said that there is a movie theater next to it. I promised
Jennifer to see a film with her this Saturday.
W: It is also near a hospital. Okay, write down these directions so you don’t get lost.

W: Look at the next-door grocery! They really have a good thing going with their little shop.
M: Yes, good publicity is important for business. If you want to attract more customers, try advertising in the
local newspaper.
Text4:
W: I’ve had a lot of trouble sleeping lately.
M: Have you tried drinking warm milk?
W: I have. It helped a little but I’m going to do more exercise.
M: If that doesn’t work it might be worth changing your diet.
Text5:
M: Hi Sue. Are you free for lunch today?
W: No, Jake. My son David is feeling under the weather. He couldn’t go to school.
Text6:
M: This afternoon, I must get to Jacob’s house on 14th Street in the city center. But I don’t want to drive in the
rush hour.
W: Oh, it’s easy! Go to the 96th Street station and take the subway downtown. You’ll arrive at the 14th Street
station in 20 minutes. And you won’t even have to change to a bus.
M: That’s the new subway line.

W: Oh. How did it go?
M: I think it went well. They said they would make a decision by this Friday.

M: We can go to Kemp Town Beach in Brighton or Birling Gap Beach in East Sussex. Kemp Town is famous
for its coastal walks, the Seven Sisters path along the south coast. We can surf, swim, and fly kites.
W: Sounds fun! But the water is not so clean. I prefer to go to Birling Gap because the water quality is
excellent.
M: How long does it take to get there?
W: It’ll take us about two hours to go there by train.

W: Engineering.
M: And what do you hope to do after you graduate?
W: When I graduate next year, I hope to design buildings that can help the environment.

Welcome to the Trailside Museum. Here you can learn about the local animals and their natural
environments. There are many animal samples we have on display. One of our most famous is a large black
bear. They live in this area but are uncommon. Many fishermen see them during certain seasons, but they stay
away from humans. Most are seen near the lake. I think you will see some of these birds the most. You have
probably seen many of our local birds already. Most people mainly notice little brown birds and the birds with
red chests, but there are many different types of both. My favorite bird is actually the one with the color of the
sky. It is a bluebird with a black head. Right now it is spring when many animals are born. There is a lot
happening in the forest because of this. However, it is also the wettest season. This is why the north path is
closed. Instead, hikers will need to use the higher and older paths through the park.
