(Text 10)
This summer I joined a two-week summer camp in China. The camp was for language
learning. The other campers and I learned Chinese through activities like storytelling and
role-playing.Inthefirstweek,to usethevocabularywe'd learned in real-world situations,wewere
encouraged to buy vegetables at the market and book entry tickets to the museum.During the
second week, the activities were richer. We attended classes in traditional Chinese art in thefirst
three days, such as fan painting, paper cutting and Chinese calligraphy. It was so cool to driveout
the summer heat with a fan painted by myself. Then the following day we went to eat traditional
food there. We also spent two days visiting some places ofinterest, learning about thelocal history
ofthe area.In the last day of our camp,we had a sharing session, during which wewere asked to
describe the part we like best of our camp.It was a hard choice. For me,everyactivity was fun
—Chinese culture, the food and people all impressed me deeply.I hope to comeagain inthefuture.
