Here’s a look at some national parks in China worth visiting.
Giant Panda National Park
The park covers 27,134 km2 of mountainous land in Central China’s Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces.

In Baidoa, inside the simple walls of AI Camaara Temporary Learning Centre, something special is happening,
one lesson at a time. At the heart of it is Shamsa Adan, a teacher who believes that every child, no matter where
they come from, should have the chance to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Shamsa has been with the school since its inception three years ago. From day one, she has helped to open its
doors, not just physically, but emotionally, for hundreds of children from disadvantaged communities. She teaches
Somali, Arabic, and math, wearing many hats in a two-classroom school that runs double shifts to accommodate
195 children, 90 of whom are girls. But it is not just the number of subjects she teaches that stands out — it is the
difference she is making.
“When we started using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL)approach, I noticed something change in my
students,” Shamsa says with a proud smile. “Children who used to stay silent began to speak up. Those who
struggled with reading began to read full sentences.”
At the centre, the impact is deeply personal. “We love our teacher. She is kind, patient, and makes learning
fun,” says Bilal, a student at the centre in Baidoa. “She always listens to us and helps us understand.” His face
lights up as he talks about the joy of being in her class, a safe space where every child feels seen and supported.

For Shamsa being kind is a choice she makes every day. “Many of these children have gone through tough

and learn.”
Looking ahead, Shamsa hopes the approach can be scaled up across more schools in Somalia. “This program

Teachers need to fully understand how AI actually works so that they can make wise decisions on when and
how to use it. I recently met with a kindergarten teacher who was very worried. She asked me, “Do I really have to
use AI with my kids? I don’t even know what it is.” She was under such pressure, and that’s not healthy. It’s an
incredibly difficult and unfair situation for teachers to be placed in. That’s why AI literacy (人工智能素养), along
with supporting teachers with the integration of AI literacy in their classrooms, is a main priority for me. It’s very
important to slow down and make sure teachers feel comfortable and confident before integrating AI into schools.
It’s important to think about using AI in ways suitable for different ages and address privacy concerns. While
there are still gaps, I remain optimistic. AI can make life easier and help us be more productive and creative if used
as a helpful partner.
How do these innovations shape the future of education? Are you fearful or hopeful? I’m hopeful that this
could be a turning point where teaching and learning are greatly changed, as education has changed little since it
began.
AI is here to stay, so we have to decide to make it positive in the ways we want. If we don’t do anything, it
could have negative effects. This feels like a big change, but people were also worried when computers and
smartphones were first introduced to schools. We have adapted to those and will adapt to life with AI too.
One of the fundamental goals of education is to prepare our students to contribute meaningfully to society.

Kerr has never been afraid to step outside conventional surfing. He has always been eager to try new things.
This Tuesday at Sydney’s wave pool, Kerr showcased a new type of surfboard made with recycled wind turbine
blades (风力涡轮机叶片). The product is a cooperation (合作) between his surfboard company and an energy
company focused on sustainability (持续性).

turbine blades into new products. The energy company is also calling for more local efforts to expand turbine
recycling.
“When we were approached about being part of the solution and working together to create these surfboards,
we jumped at the opportunity,” said Kerr. “Our mission is to provide the best surfing experience with sustainable
and high-quality products, which matches the innovative program.”
Most retired wind turbines in the region are recyclable. However, between 5% and 15% of the turbines,
including the blades, are made from materials that are more challenging to recycle. It was this material that became
the key element of Kerr’s 10 unique surfboards.
While only a few surfboards have been made so far, the partnership reflects larger environmental goals. Many
of the region’s turbines will go out of use in the next 10 to 15years, so it’s crucial to ensure the materials are reused
rather than ending up in landfills. As for whether these turbine-based boards will become mainstream, that remains
to be seen.
