Step1. Preview
Can 的用法:以前我们学过can,请翻译下面的句子

Step2. Warming up and leading in
T: What weekend activities do you know? Make a list.
Ss: Study for a test/ go to a movie /have a piano lesson /surf the internet/
help my mother /visit my grandfather /play basketball and so on.
【设计思路】让学生把所知活动写在黑板上,这样既为下一步要用到活动名提供了选择和参考,
又让学生学习以前知识且能体验到成就感,兴趣大增,在例举的基础上补充如Go to the
doctor /go to the baseball game/ have a guitar lesson等且写在黑板上。

S:I want to …
T: What activities do you not want to do?
S:I don’t want to study for a test/…

必然有肯定和否定两种,帮助学生回答完整且把下列对话写在黑板上.

B: Sure , I’d love to .Thanks for asking.
Sorry I can’t. I have a piano lesson/have too much homework…
I’m sorry , I can’t . I have to help my mother./go to the doctor.
I’m sorry , I can’t. I’m playing soccer./going to the movies.
【设计思路】这样表示拒绝的三种理由表达法都呈现出来了,.下一步学生就会使用以上三种
句型来拒绝邀请.

Task: First students read the dialogue in the picture. Then listen to conversations in 1b.

After this, ask the student to practice some invitations and refusals.

Step4. Listening practice
1)Listening for the general idea听取大意
T : Listen and write the main idea of the conversation.

The main idea of the conversation is to talk about: .
2)Listening for the specific ideas听取细节.
First, make the preparation for listening. Read the sentences twice to the class. The first time
you can read “can”, the second time you can read “can”. Then let the students listen .
T: Listen and circle the correct words .
The answers for activity 2a are : 1. can’t , 2.can 3. can’t 4. can’t 5.can
3) Ask a student to read the sentences in the box.. Tell the students these are the reason why
people can’t go to the party.T: Listen to the recording again and number the reasons 1~3 why they can’t go to the party .

4) Listen again and repeat.
【设计意图】本部分设计主要训练学生听取大意和听取细节过去信息的能力
Step5.Post-listening activities
1.Pair work:
T: This is an oral practice about the target the language . You can ask the student if they can give
other reasons besides the ones in 2a .
If they can, make a dialogue in pair . ( First , ask two who can do it well to make a model
dialogue , then let them do it in pairs .
2. Ask the Ss to practice 2c in pairs.
Give and accept or decline invitations in pairs like 2c.
Then ask several pairs to act out their conversations.
【设计意图】问答能让所有的学生都动起来,真正的让每一个学生都参与到课堂中来,也能很
好的训练学生的口语表达能力。
Step6. Inquiry into knowledge by the group cooperation.
That’s really too bad! Oh, but Sam isn’t leaving until next Wednesday.
在英语中,not…until…是一个常见句型,表示“ 直到……才……”。
I didn’t go to bed until past midnight.

亮点:
本节课我通过活动自然而然的引入学习内容,给出句子后让学生自己分析句子的共同点,自
己得出结论而不是教师填压给的,培养学生的观察、总结能力,特别是小组合作探究掀起了
本课的高潮,课后活动全体学生都动了起来,既巩固了所学知识,又训练了学生运用过去进
行时谈论过去某个时候所做的事的能力。
不足:
本节课容量较大,有四个听力内容,因此时间要安排得当,否则会造成前松后紧。
