  1. burst into one's life — 闯入某人的生活 原文:Casey burst into our lives like a storm. The little stray dog burst into our lives like a warm breeze.
  2. tug sb toward… 走 原文:he would tug me toward every scrap of leftover pizza.
  3. fly into a frenzy — 陷入极度亢奋/狂躁 原文:At the mere sight of a squirrel, he would fly into a frenzy.
  4. leap and howl — 蹦跳、高声嚎叫 原文:leaping and howling 蹦跳着、嚎叫着。 续写套用:猫狗、狼等动物激动时的典型动作:leap(蹦跳)+ howl(嚎叫)。
  5. hold him in check — 牵制住、抑制住它 原文:I struggled desperately to hold him in check.
  6. respond to one's voice — 听从某人的声音指令 原文:he began responding to my voice.
I found Casey sound asleep on the couch.
  8. breathe deeply and steadily — 呼吸深沉而平稳 原文:breathing deeply and steadily.

  1. for one's sake — 看在…… I agreed only for Paul's sake.
I felt worn-out and defeated.
  3. break his focus — 打断它的注意力 原文:use a firm, confident tone to break his focus.
  4. melt away —(烦恼)消散 原文:my worries melted away along with his calm, rhythmic breathing.
  5. no longer a clash but a teamwork — 不再是冲突,而是默契协作 原文:Our walks were no longer a clash but a teamwork.

scruffy adj.
sharp sense of smell
续写:get familiar with the creature's quirks。
restless adj.
firm and confident tone

  1. At the mere sight of + 对象, 主语 + would…(一看见…… 原文:At the mere sight of a squirrel, he would fly into a frenzy. At the mere sight of the rabbit, the dog would leap forward.
  2. …no longer A but B(不再是A,而是B,转折升华) 原文:Our walks were no longer a clash but a teamwork. The fierce wolf was no longer a threat but a loyal companion.
Driven by his sharp sense of smell, he would tug me toward scraps. Driven by hunger, the little fox wandered around the village.

表示动物激动亢奋(替换 fly into a frenzy):go wild 变得躁动发狂;get carried away 情绪上头、不受控制;burst with excitement 兴奋不已。

Whenever it spotted a bird, it would bark loudly.
初始:动物野性本能 → tug / fly into a frenzy / leap and howl;人 → worn-out, defeated
转变:慢慢驯服 → respond to one's voice;人狗关系 → no longer a clash but teamwork
