初中英语语法(一)名词通常如何变成复数

一、基础概念

名词分为：可数名词、不可数名词

可数名词：可以一个一个数，有单数、复数。

单数：表示“一个”，前面常加 a / an

复数：表示“两个或以上”，要变化形式

❌ 不可数名词：不能分成一个个，没有复数，如水 water、牛奶 milk、面包 bread。

提示：many + 复数名词；much + 不可数名词；lots of / a lot of 两种都可以。

二、规则变化（重点）

（1）一般情况 词尾直接加 -s 

例如：book → books；pen → pens；cat → cats 

（2）s / x / ch / sh （口诀：四线城市）结尾 词尾加 -es 

例如:bus → buses；box → boxes；watch → watches；

dish → dishes 

(3)辅音字母 + y 变 y 为 i，再加 -es

例如： city → cities；baby → babies；library → libraries 

元音字母（a e i o u）+ y 直接加 -s

例如： boy → boys；toy → toys；key → keys 

（4）以f / fe 结尾 大多变 f / fe → v，再加 -es；

例如：leaf → leaves；knife → knives；

少数直接加 s    roof → roofs 

（5）o 结尾 有生命：+ es；无生命：+ s 

例如：tomato → tomatoes；potato → potatoes；photo → photos；zoo → zoos

三、不规则变化（必须背诵）

这一类没有办法套公式，单独记，考试高频：

（1）内部元音变化

man → men      woman → women

foot → feet       tooth → teeth

（2）特殊后缀

child → children    mouse → mice

（3） 单复数长得一样（不变）

sheep → sheep     deer → deer

（4） 以 -man 结尾

policeman → policemen

四、复数的用法（什么时候要用复数）

1. 数量大于 1

two apples，three boxes，twelve years

2. many、lots of、some、these、those、how many 后面

some libraries；how many monkeys

3. 表示一类事物

I like dogs.（我喜欢狗这一类）

4. 注意：不可数名词永远不变

some water ✔，some waters ❌

 sheep 单复数一样 不要写成 sheeps

5. “许多”区分：

 how many + 可数复数

 how much + 不可数名词
