24.B 25.B 26.C 27.D
根据文章第二段中的“he quit his day job and began traveling the country to deliver free
Legos to children’s hospitals through the nonprofit he created, LittleBricks Charity(他辞去了日常工作,并开始
Cassevah
根据文章第四段中 Hewitt的妈妈Christen Sluyter所说的话“You could tell that Cassevah

More than anything, we laughed and had fun.
Hewitt knew a lot about the bricks and even taught me a few things.
reinforced my feeling that I’m on the right path(和他在一起的时光让我更加reinforced自己走在了正确的道
因此,D选项“From Walking on Legos to Donating Them(从在乐高上行走到捐

根据文章第一段“A region of the brain called the amygdala (杏仁核) is responsible for
powerful emotions like fear. Now, researchers have found the region may also be to blame for overeating.( 大脑

Switching these neurons off reduced overeating and protected
against obesity. It also boosted the animals’ physical activity, leading to weight loss and better health.(关闭这些
D“They increase physical activity and get better health.(它们增加身体活动并获得更
Li and his team are exploring ways to control the neurons that
cause hedonic eating. The next step, he says, is to map out how these neurons respond to different types of food
2
学科网(北京)股份有限公司and see what makes them so sensitive.
A“Know more about specific neurons in the amygdala.(了解更多
故选A。
Therapeutics targeting these neurons could lead to new treatments for
obesity with minimal side effects.
““Identifying the brain neurons that controls eating is important for developing better treatment options for
people who struggle to control their weight.”(“确定控制饮食的大脑神经元对于为控制体重而挣扎的人开发
A“The significance of the study.(研究的意义)”概括本段主要内容。
故选A。

根据第一段中“An experiment on great tits (大山雀) has pinpointed a single factor —
immigration — that can cause birds to pay close attention to others, leading them to rapidly adopt useful

Not only did immigrants see that residents were opening the puzzle
box in a new way, but in some groups, the newcomers also discovered that residents scored a superior reward by

In nature, animals are often moving from one environment to another, so
it’s helpful to have a strategy to remove bad behaviors and learn good behaviors to use in the new place. Our
study provided the experimental evidence to show that this is also what happens in real life,” Chimento said.(“在

Possible version:
I spent the next two decades keeping my limb difference hidden at all times. I’d keep my hand in my pocket,
cover it with extra-long sleeves or tuck it behind bags or underneath jackets. In my mind, I had decided that my
missing hand made me extremely ugly and that if people knew about it they would not want to be around me
anymore. I internalised this self-loathing, .and it only strengthened over the years, When I finally realized I was
not thriving, I was determined to stop it.
The journey of hiding to unhiding was hard, but the efforts were rewarding. I learned that being
comfortable with myself made other people more comfortable as well. Talking about my struggles gave them
permission to talk about theirs as well, and I was able to bond on a deeper level with a much larger group of
people. For 25 years, I’ve worked in non-profit organisations working with young people. Accepting my disability
has sparked a passion in me to educate others about disability as part of diversity, through public speaking and
writing.

do you go to now?
M: I’m volunteering at a law firm. I dream of becoming a lawyer and have learned some skills by working there.
I’m sure such experience can help make my dream come true one day. What about you?
W: I think participating in the same activity as someone else often means you have a shared interest that can make
the participants easier to become friends. I always go to the school sports center. I can meet many new people who
love playing sports. We also organize various activities to promote friendship.
【Text 9】
W: Hey, Bob. What happened to your left leg?
M: I hurt my ankle. It’s really painful.
W: I’m sorry to hear that. How did that happen?
M: Oh, I fell down the stairs outside my apartment. My wife was at work, so I tried calling my neighbour but
couldn’t get through. Fortunately, a passerby saw me and offered to drive me to the hospital.
W: Oh, poor you.
M: The doctor said I should stay in bed, but I have to make a living by serving the dishes in a restaurant.
W: Don’t worry. You’ll be better soon. You know, I broke my leg three years ago.
M: Really? How did you break it?
W: I had a bad motorbike accident on the way to the supermarket.
M: Sounded terrible.

for five weeks.
M: So your leg is OK now, right?

the sea to help. He discovered the whale was completely trapped in the red fishing net so she could not even
open her mouth. After initial attempts to cut the net from a boat failed, some divers from two diving centers
joined the effort. For the first ten seconds, the whale got a bit nervous, but then she knew the divers were there
to help her and she just relaxed. The rescuers started working from the front of her mouth backwards. They kept
cutting and cutting. Finally, the whale struggled a while and then set herself free. But she didn’t leave
immediately. She stayed for a bit to regain her strength in the company of the divers. Then before she left, she
even gave what looked like a little thank-you sign. That’s all for tonight’s program. Thank you for listening.
