English Speaking Competition
To inspire our students to embrace volunteerism and contribute actively to society, the English
Radio Station of Sunshine Middle School is proud to announce an English speech competition
themed "Volunteering, Starting with Me." This event aims to encourage personal involvement in
community service and share inspiring stories.
Requirements for participation are as follows: Participants must prepare a speech of 3 to 5
minutes, reflecting on their own volunteering experiences or suggesting a volunteer initiative.
Topics can include environmental conservation, education support, and community development.
All speeches should be delivered in English, demonstrating clear grammar, vocabulary, and
pronunciation skills.
The competition will take place on June 20th at 2 p.m. in the School Lecture Hall. To join,
please submit your entry form online by June 15th. We are looking forward to your participation
and to hearing your voices for change.

his guidance. The book fair, attracting numerous readers, was a great success thanks to our perfect
collaboration.
After the book fair wasover,I couldn't stop wondering whyMr.Egan put us together.In spite of
an unexpected episode of the book fair, Charlie and me, with my friends’ help, accomplished the
seemingly impossible task. No sooner had the book fair ended than I approached Mr. Egan with my
confusion. Smiling gently at me, Mr. Egan said that Mrs. Cates told him about something about our
failed science project. Looking back on last year’s science project, I realized that the reason why
our first cooperation in science project ended in failure was that we lacked necessary
communication and teamwork. I did owe my gratitude to Mr. Egan and Mrs. Cate because they
revealed to me that strong teamwork spirits do play a critical role in cooperation projects and
individualismmakes littlesense.
