The Memory Box
By Lily
Last weekend, my family decided to have a yard sale to clear out old things. As I helped Mom
sort through boxes in the garage, I found a dusty wooden box labeled “Lily’s Childhood.” Inside
were toys, a faded sweater, and a storybook with my name scribbled on the cover.
“I’ve had this book since I was seven,” I said, flipping through the pages. It reminded me of
the nights Grandma read it to me before bed. The sweater, though too small now, was a gift from
my best friend when we were in primary school. “Why do we have to sell these?” I asked Mom.
“They’re full of memories, but we need to make room for new things,” she replied gently.
“Maybe someone else will love them too.”
The hardest item to part with was my bike. I’ve ridden it for three years, exploring every corner
of our neighborhood. Its paint was chipped, but I still remembered the day Dad taught me to ride it.
“Don’t worry,” Dad said, noticing my sad expression. “We can take a photo to keep the memory
alive.”
At the yard sale, a girl named Emma picked up the storybook. “I love fairy tales!” she
exclaimed. Her smile made me realize that passing it on wasn’t so bad. Then, a boy named Tom
bought my bike. “I’ll take good care of it,” he promised.
In the end, we donated some toys to a children’s home. Mom explained, “These toys can bring
joy to other kids, just like they did for you.”
That night, I wrote in my diary: “Letting go of things is hard, but sharing them makes memories
even more special.”

Endurance”和“Luckily, Shackleton and his team lived.”
根据第三段倒数第二句“The name on the back of the ship is still clear.”
