A new trend of “shared makeup rooms” aimed at women is causing argument in China. Some think they are affordable
way to get to use expensive makeup, while others are not willing to share a lipstick (口红) with a stranger.
Using their phones, customers scan a Quick Response code (QR code, 二维码) to pay a small cost. Then they can enter
a room with a chair and a dressing table. A wide range of beauty products is spread out on the table, including products from
top Western brands. Users can help themselves to these products.The room also provides brushes and other tools for people

Products in a shared makeup room in Wuhan are worth more than 4,000 yuan in total, according to a daily newspaper.
But it costs a small amount to use the room from anywhere between fifteen and fortyfive minutes. In the “shared makeup
rooms” in Wuhan, the maximum (最高值)a customer can expect to spend in one sitting is 58 yuan.
Young women who have tried the rooms had mostly positive feedback. “I thought the shared makeup room is great. It's
