IV. teaching process
(一)Warming-up (5 minutes)
1. Greet the students and have a free talk about fairy tales.
Ask students if they like fairy tales and which ones they know.
Share some famous fairy tales with the students, such as Snow White,
Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood.
2. Play a short video clip of The Ugly Duckling to arouse students' interest.
(二)Presentation (10 minutes)
1. Show the pictures in 1a and ask students to number them according to their
predictions of the story.
Encourage students to express their reasons for the numbering.
Have a brief discussion with students about their predictions.
2. Present the story adapted from The Ugly Duckling and ask students to read it
silently.
While students are reading, walk around the classroom to offer help if
needed.
(三)Practice (15 minutes)
1. Ask students to work in pairs and discuss the question in 1b: Is the ugly
duckling a real duck?
Invite several pairs to share their opinions and have a class discussion.
2. Have students read the story again and answer the questions in 1c.
Check the answers together and explain any difficult points.
Encourage students to think deeply and express their own understandings.
(四)Production (10 minutes)
1. Ask students to match the characters with their opinions in 1d.
Check the answers and have students explain their reasoning.
2. Divide students into groups and ask them to give advice to these characters.
Each group selects a spokesperson to share their group's ideas with the class.
(五)Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
1. Summarize the main points of the lesson, including the story, the language
points, and the moral.
2. Assign homework:
Ask students to retell the story to their parents or friends in English.

五、教学反思
在本次公开课中,通过多种教学方法的运用,学生的积极性得到了较好的
调动,尤其是在讨论和小组活动环节,学生能够积极参与,表达自己的观点。
但在教学过程中,也发现部分学生对于故事中一些较复杂的句子理解还有困
难,在今后的教学中需要加强对长难句的讲解和练习。同时,在时间把控上还
需要进一步优化,确保各项教学活动能够更加紧凑和高效地完成。
