You may have heard of white and black sand beaches, but what about shores
with pink sands? Now let's take a look.
Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda
One of the most famous and photographed beaches in Bermuda is Horseshoe
Bay Beach. Located in South Shore Park, this pink beach features a coastal trail
that connects it to other area beaches, plus limestone rocks and cliffs that add to its
beauty. Beachgoers can play a game of volleyball or attend one of several annual
festivals hosted on-site.
Budelli Island, Italy
Known locally as "Spiaggia Rosa," this beach gets its pink color from a
mixture of coral (珊瑚) and shells. The pink shore sits on Budelli Island, an isle
north of Sardinia in the Maddalena Archipelago. The beach offers a variety of
services, such as stands, lifeguards and beach and water sports equipment rentals
like surfboards.
Crane Beach, Barbados
At The Crane Resort, visitors can directly access the pink sand beach by
riding in the glass-front beach elevator.
To keep beachgoers safe, there are two lifeguards on duty most days. Resort
visitors also have access to free beach umbrellas, towels and chairs, plus several
高一英语试题 第 4 页 共 14 页pools, a hot spring and a fitness center.
Great Santa Cruz Island, Philippines
The pink sand beach on Great Santa Cruz Island gets its color from red organ
pipe coral. Many divers gather here to take advantage of the beach's clear water and
excellent visibility, though much of the area's sea life has been destroyed due to
illegal coral mining. You'll also find a small village on the island.
21. What can you do on Horseshoe Bay Beach?
A. Surf on the sea. B. Climb up a rock.
C. Play beach volleyball. D. Ride on a horse.
22. Which beach offers some free services to specific visitors?
A. Crane Beach. B. Budelli Island.
C. Horseshoe Bay Beach. D. Great Santa Cruz Island.
23. What do the four beaches have in common?
A. They offer water sports.
B. They are situated on big islands.
C. They're equipped with lifeguards.
D. They have beautiful pink sands.

My daughter said she wanted to redecorate her room. The thought of tackling a
room redecorating project intimidated me, but I knew that following through on
helping my girl create a new space for herself woud mean a lot to her. So, I worked
up my courage.
Together, my daughter and I set a budget for our project, spread paint samples
on her wall and calculated how much paint we would need. And finally—a deep
breath—we started painting. Neither of us had ever painted a room before. After
rolling a paint roller across her wall for the first time, my daughter frowned
and said, “Maybe we should hire someone to do the painting for us, Mom.”
I couldn't help wondering if she might be right, but I assured her that if we
followed the painting pointers we had studied and took our time, we could do a fine
job. I didn't want her to miss out on the wonderful feeling of competence that comes
from trying something you want to do but fear you might not be able to do.
There had been many times when we'd realized we had been in the wrong way
and had to do it again. We had to problem-solve with whoever might help. Finally,
高一英语试题 第 5 页 共 14 页we finished the painting. It was not perfect, but the overall effect made my daughter
really happy. It was her ideas and work that made all visible.
Thinking about doing such a project with my daughter, it struck me that she got
to see me being a rank beginner-messing up and starting over all the way. She
watched me looking up answers when I needed them and asking for help when I hit
dead ends. Instead of being an authority with all the answers, I learned with her. I
showed my daughter what learning looks like, in all its messy glory. That's definitely
the best part I'll treasure.
24.What does the underlined word "intimidated" in paragraph 1 probably mean?
A. Inspired. B. Confused. C. Impressed. D. Frightened.
25.Why didn’t the author hire a painter?
A. To exhibit her talent for decoration.
B. To overcome her fear of failure.
C. To keep the project under budget.
D. To make the kid enjoy the joy of success.
26. What does the author think is the most rewarding part of this redecoration?
A. Being a model learner. B. Being a success in decorating.
C. Being a rank beginner. D. Being an authority with all
answers.
27. Which of the following best describes the author?
A. Graceful B. Reflective C. Ambitious D. Demanding
C
Magic is a form of entertainment that is based on pretending to do things that
are impossible. The magician is a specially trained actor. He tries to make the
audience believe that he has the power to do things which are against the laws of
nature. Magic shows are entertaining as long as the audience does not discover how
the tricks are done. The magician usually depends on his skill with his hands, on his
knowledge of psychology, and sometimes, on mechanical devices ( ).
Since magic performance is meant to trick people, the use of psychology is
important. The magician must keep people from noticing all the movements of his
hands and from thinking about the secret parts of his equipment. He must also lead
the audience to draw false conclusions. The magician's success depends on the fact
that many things seen by the eye are not the things that matter.
高一英语试题 第 6 页 共 14 页Two basic magic tricks are making objects seem to appear and making objects
seem to disappear. A combination of these two tricks makes for some interesting
effects. For example, the magician puts a small ball under one of several cups. The
ball then seems to jump from one cup to another or to change its colour. What
actually happens is that the magician, employing quick hand movements or a
mechanical device, hides one ball. While doing this he talks to the audience and
waves a brightly coloured cloth with one hand. The audience is too busy watching
the cloth and listening to the magician's words to notice that his other hand is hiding
the ball.
Another favourite trick is to cut or burn something, and then make it appear
whole again. What actually happens is that the magician makes the cut or burned
object disappear by quickly hiding it while the audience watches something else.
Then he "magically" makes it appear whole again by displaying ( ) another
object that has not been cut or burned.
28. What is the author's main purpose in writing the text?
A. To clarify the art of magic. B. To promote a magic show.
C. To teach people to be magicians. D. To praise the talents of magicians.
29. Which of the following is important for a successful magic trick?
A. Applying high technology.
B. Keeping the performance in secret.
C. Distracting the audience's attention.
D. Leading people to focus on the movement.
30. What does the author focus on in the last two paragraphs?
A. Explaining a concept. B. Drawing a conclusion.
C. Making comparisons. D. Providing examples.
31. What can we infer from the text?
A. Small objects are magicians' favourite.
B. It takes practice to perform magic.
C. Mechanical devices are expensive.
D. Magicians can do things against laws of nature.
D
The ability to solve complex math problems is one thing that sets humans
apart from the rest of the animal kingdom. Despite this fact, some animals do seem
to have at least one basic mathematical ability — they can, in a sense, count.
高一英语试题 第 7 页 共 14 页In the early 1900s, the horse Clever Hans drew worldwide attention in Berlin
when his trainer showed that he could count and solve math problems, tapping his
feet to indicate a number. However, researchers later discovered that Clever Hans
didn't actually have mathematical skills, but the horse did own impressive
observation skills. That is, he was unable to answer questions that his questioners
also couldn't answer because Clever Hans was actually reading minute facial and
body language clues to determine the correct responses.
While Clever Hans failed his math quiz a century ago, studies in more recent
decades have shown that many species do actually have a "number sense". In the
late 1980s, researchers showed that chimpanzee(黑猩猩)could add up the
number of pieces of chocolate in two food bowls (up to five pieces of chocolate in
each bowl), compare it with the sum of two other food bowls, and correctly choose
the larger of the two sums 90 percent of the time. Some other mammals, including
lions, wolves and black bears, have also showed the ability to discriminate(辨别
)between quantities — and so have animals from various other animal classes.
Some research suggests that the number sense may be something that certain
animals are born with. In 2015, scientists found that baby chicks as young as 3 days
old could identify smaller and larger quantities and might even think of numbers on
a "number line" running from left to right, similar to humans.
Whatever the case, our number sense is not unique in the animal kingdom. In
fact, it may not be something that's reserved to just animals: Venus flytraps can
also "count".
32. How did Clever Hans give the correct answer to the math problem?
A. By guessing the answer casually.
B. By tapping his feet to count.
C. By reading the questioner's response.
D. By turning to his trainer for help.
33. What can chimpanzees do according to the study?
A. They can choose food bowls of specific shape.
B. They can tell the difference between quantities.
C. They can pass the quiz with observation skills.
D. They can add up all pieces of chocolate in four bowls.
34. What is a Venus flytrap?
A. An insect. B. A fish. C. A bird. D. A plant.
高一英语试题 第 8 页 共 14 页35. Which can be the best title for the text?
A. Can animals count?
B. Can animals use numbers?
C. Animals' mathematical training.
D. Animals' problem-solving ability.

If you need to prove who you are in China, you will usually need to use an ID
card. It shows your name, date of birth, address, nationality, photo and ID number.
36
Last year, Alipay introduced its first electronic ID card. The card is an
electronic version of the real ID card and is recognized by the Ministry of Public
Security. 37 Users can simply select “Web ID” in the app and follow the
instructions.
The electronic ID card can now be used in Hangzhou, Suzhou and Fuzhou.
People in these three cities can use the card to check into hotels, buy train tickets
and do other tasks. 38
About 4 million people will be able to use the service within the next year. “
39 Even if they forget their ID cards, they can still get things done. Since the
process is simplified, it also makes things easier for government offices and
companies,” the Mayor of Suzhou told Zhangjie online.

When I was in middle school, my family moved to Seattle, where my parents
started their new business—a small grocery store downstairs my house. As a girl of
shy and reserved nature, I had to take a fresh start to fit into the sophisticated city
life.
One sunny day, my school announced an exciting event, a talent show for the
local food bank. Students were encouraged to showcase their unique talents in front
of the public in the city hall on National Day. A buzz of excitement filled the
school as everyone began preparing
for the big day. Deep down, I felt a spark of curiosity and a desire to participate.
However, my self-doubt held me back, "I don't have any special skills to share."
Days turned into weeks, and the talent show drew closer. I couldn't shake the
高一英语试题 第 13 页 共 14 页upsetting feeling until one day Emma, one of the most popular girls in my class,
came to me while I was helping in the grocery store after class. "How about singing
together in the talent show?" she grinned, "I heard you singing a tune along the way
back home. I can't help following you here." Gosh, I couldn't believe my ears.
Emma, with personality and popularity, acknowledged my little talent. Since
Emma had the world's prettiest voice, I felt like being favoured by fortune.
"You two? The talent show for the food bank?" My mum bent towards us and
her face lit up. "A big occasion." Then a light bulb seemed to go in her head. "Why
not practise right now upstairs? I bet you'll be a perfect match." Winking at us, she
seemed to know we were thinking alike.
Emma and I rehearsed almost every single day after school. We brainstormed,
exchanged ideas and rehearsed the scene. As the days rolled by, I was feeling pretty
good about our act. But the day before the performance, Emma called that she had
a sudden stomachache and was not in any shape to perform.

第一节:A possible version
A Fun Double Ninth Visit to the Nursing Home
On the recent Double Ninth Festival, my whole class volunteered at the nearby
nursing home, which left a deep impression on me.
Upon arrival, we were divided into small groups. Some chatted with the elders,
listening to their stories about the past. Some helped clean their rooms, while others
put on a short performance of folk songs and poems. Seeing their bright smiles when
we chatted, I felt warm in my heart.
I truly enjoyed the activity. The elders need not only material support but also
emotional care. It also reminded me to cherish the time with my own grandparents.
Such meaningful experiences are truly priceless.
第二节:
I was completely knocked out by the news. Pretending to be calm, I told her not
to worry and promised I would attend the performance. But deep inside, I was
entirely seized by nervousness at the thought of performing all by myself. Just as I
was struggling in the abyss of despair, I felt a gentle pat on my shoulder. It was Mom!
Meeting her concerned gaze, I was greatly soothed and, in a trembling voice,
whispered the cause of my despair. She listened with patience, reassured me and
encouraged me to believe in myself. Inspired, I nodded and made a decision in my
mind that I would prove myself on the big occasion. With Mom accompanying me, I
practised tirelessly that night.
Finally came the big moment. As my name was announced, I stepped onto the
stage with my palms sweating. Standing under the spotlight, I scanned the crowds
and saw Mom and Emma cheering, which inspired me with confidence. I was totally
immersed in the wonderland of music when the last note faded in the air and a burst
of thunderous applause wrenched me back to the present. I made it! A ripple of
exhilaration ran through my whole body like a current, making me prouder of myself
than ever before. It finally dawned on me that it was encouragement from others
and, most importantly, my belief in myself that paved the way for a better self.

M: The window one sounds nice, thanks.(11)We have a small child with us. Can
we also get a high chair?(12)
W: Of course! Let me get that ready now. Here are your menus. I'll bring some
pencils and paper for the little one, too. The kids'menu is on the back. Can I start you
off with some drinks, or maybe our house hot bread?

W: Certainly. I'll get those right away.(13)

W: The cultural festival is coming, and we still have lots to do.I'm worried we
won't get ready in time.(14)
M: Let's go over our list.We have all the food trucks, and we know who's doing
the shows. What about decorations and tables?(15)
W: The art club will help with decorations this weekend,(15)and the school staff
will set up the tables on Friday morning. My biggest worry is the sound system for
the stage. We're still waiting to hear back from the sound company.(16)
M: I'll call them tomorrow morning.(16)We really need to get that sorted out
soon. What about volunteers for selling tickets and managing the crowds?
W: Good news there! We have 15 students helping, and Mrs.Green said her class
will clean up after.
M: That's great! With all our planning, I’m sure it will be our best festival ever.
Everyone at school is excited about it.
Text 10(第20题为推断题)
Good morning, teachers and students. My name is Lisa. I’m speaking for all the
new students starting high school this year.(18)Two months ago, we were nervous
middle school students wondering what high school would be like. Today, I can say
that we're not scared anymore. We're excited about the next three years. The older
students have been so nice and helpful. They've made our start here much easier than
we thought.(18) We’ve already started looking at all the cool things this school
has—the science labs, the art rooms, the sports teams, and activities that let us help
out in our town. Many of us have already joined clubs and made new friends. As
new students, we bring fresh ideas to this school.(19)We want to keep the good
things that make this place special, but we also want to bring our own energy and
thoughts.(19) We're ready to learn, grow, and do great things here. Thank you for
making us feel so welcome.
