Writing【 2021年6月浙江卷】
原题 阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Eva spent the first week of high school trying to keep her head above water. One of the major headaches for
her was finding her way in the huge school building. It was a six-story building. On each floor, hallways stretched in
four directions, leading to classrooms, laboratories, and teachers’ offices. Somewhere in the building, there was alsoa library, a cafeteria, and a gym.
Having a poor sense of direction, Eva found it impossible to get around in such a huge building. All the different
hallways and rooms were too much to think about, let alone commit to memory. She decided that she would memorize
where her classes were and then pretend that the rest of the place didn’t exist.
In her first PE class, Eva was shocked when Coach Pitt announced that everyone had to run one mile around
the track outside. She searched the faces of her classmates for signs of panic. There was nothing she feared more than
having to run a whole mile. To Eva, “a mile” was used to describe long distances. It was ten miles from her home to
her grandfather’s, and that always seemed like a long way, even in a car!
When Coach Pitt blew his whistle (哨子), Eva figured she would be left in the dust. However, while some of
her classmates edged ahead, others actually fell behind. ” It’s just the beginning, “she thought.” I’ll come in last for
sure. “
Soon Eva began to breathe hard, with her heart pounding and legs shaking. Feeling desperate, Eva started
using a mind trick on herself. She stopped thinking about the word” mile. “Instead, she focused on reaching the
shadow cast on the track by an oak tree up ahead. Then she concentrated on jogging to the spot where the track
curved (拐弯). After that, she tried to see if she could complete her first lap. One lap turned into two, then three, then
four.

_____
【答案】 When Coach Pitt said “Nice work!” to her at the finish line, Eva was surprised. In the vast
expanse of her school, a girl with poor directional skills struggled to navigate and often got lost. One day, during
gym class, she observed a unique way to find her way - following the shadows of trees. As the sun cast its rays, the
girl noticed how the shadows created patterns on the ground, guiding her path. She took a leap of faith and followed
the shadows, surprising herself with each turn and stretch. Her efforts were noticed by the teacher, who praised her
innovative thinking.
Eva decided to use the same trick to deal with the school building. She used the shadows to navigate the
school hallways, find her classes, and even locate the school's various facilities. This newfound skill not only
helped the girl navigate her school but also instilled in her a sense of confidence and adventure. She learned
excitedly that with a little creativity and observation, any challenge could be overcome. And with each step she
took, she left behind a legacy of inspiration for those who followed in her footsteps, knowing that even without a
clear sense of direction, there's always a way to find one's way.

I chewed on my pencil as I walked back and forth across my bedroom. What was I going to do? It was bad
enough that I was the new kid. But now I was sure to get laughed right out of fifth grade. How could my first
homework be such a disaster?
“My name is Anna, and this summer I——”I stopped. How could I stand in front of my class and say that I’d
spent the entire summer handling something that most people don’t even like to talk about? Poop (粪便). I’d spent
three months shoveling (铲), collecting, and analyzing co w poop on my grandparents’ farm. I tried to think of a
different adventure I could share. Maybe I could say I’d spent the summer on the Weather Control Team preventing
floods.
“Time for dinner,” my mom called.
I walked slowly down the stairs and slid into my chair.
“You’ve been in your room since you came home from school,” Mom said. “What are you working on?”
I sighed. “I have to tell the class what I did this summer.”
My younger brother, Seymour, began to laugh uncontrollably. “No one will want to sit next to you after they
hear you were covered in cow poop all summer!”
“OK, that’s enough, Seymour,” Dad said.
“Anna,” said Mom, putting green beans in a bowl, “be proud of the work we did this summer. Our planet would
be in sad shape without scientists like your grandfather.”
It’s true that my grandfather does important work. He developed an easy way to use poop as a source of fuel.
Using the poop is now easy, economical, and environmentally safe.
“I know, Mom,” I said, staring at my meatloaf. “But it’s not exactly something people want to hear about before
lunch.”
That night I dreamed about more splendid adventures: cave diving in Mexico; hiking through the Amazonrainforest.
At school the next day, I bent over my desk, listening to each kid speak. My palms were sweaty, and the knot
(结) in my stomach grew tighter.
“And that was my journey to Mount Everest,” Ember Adams said, finishing her report. She bowed and took her seat.

【答案】One possible version:
“It’s your turn, Anna,” Ms. Hammond said. Taking a deep breath, I stepped to the front of the room and cleared
my throat. “This summer I-well, I...” I stared at the floor. This was my last chance to save my dignity with a tale of
fake adventure. Then I thought about how hard Grandpa worked to save our planet. Gathering my courage, I described
the process of collecting and analyzing cow poop and how it was transformed into sustainable fuel. Surprisingly, my
classmates listened attentively. As I concluded my sustainable adventure, I gracefully bowed to them.
The class cheered as I returned to my desk, and some of my classmates approached me with admiration in their
eyes. Ember Adams, who had just shared her journey to Mount Everest, clapped me on the back. “That’s so cool,
Anna! Turning poop into fuel? That never crossed my mind!” she exclaimed. Soon, others joined the conversation,
intrigued by the unusual nature of my summer experience. A sense of relief, joy and pride overwhelmed me. Instead
of being the target of laughter, I became the center of attention. My seemingly “stinky” summer vacation was actually
not only a fabulous planet-saving adventure but also opened a door to my friendships with my new fifth-grade
peers!

It was a cold winter evening, and the pressure of high school was weighing heavily on my shoulders. I had always
been a hardworking and dedicated student, but in my final year, the workload seemed unbearable. No matter how
much effort I put into my studies, I couldn’t seem to keep up.
As the mid-term exams approached, I felt a sense of dread. I had spent countless hours studying, but with so
many subjects to cover, I was overwhelmed. The fear of failure consumed me, and I began to doubt myself.
One day after school, I found myself walking alongside my teacher, Mr. Johnson, on the empty playground.
He could tell that something was bothering me, and he asked if everything was alright. I hesitated for a moment,
unsure of whether to share my struggles. But there was something in his kind eyes and considerate smile that mademe open up.
I poured out my frustrations, explaining how hard I had been working and how little progress I was making.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I admitted that I was afraid of failing the exams. To my surprise, Mr.Johnson didn’t
offer words of sympathy or pity. Instead, he shared his own experiences as a high school student and the challenges
he faced during his final year.
He told me about the countless nights he had spent studying, the moments of self-doubt, and the overwhelming
pressure. But he also spoke about the importance of perseverance, no matter how difficult things may seem. He
assured me that success wasn’t just about getting good grades but about learning from our failures, the last but not
least, the qualities we formed in the process.
His words inspired me, something different seemed to have shifted in my study and life.

of letting the stress consume me, I’ve started looking for ways to manage the study pressure more efectively. The day
of the exam came. I tried to calm down and focused on the test, but my hands were shaking. I rcalled my teacher’s
expectant eyes. I became even more determined to succeed. I answered the questions as best as I could. Finally, the
exam ended, and I walked out of the classroom, with a sense of relief.
Next week, I anxiously scanned the paper for my score. My eyes widened in disbelief, I had received an A! I
could hardly contain my excitement so I couldn’t wait to find Mr. Johnson waving my paper. I stepped forward and
gave him a big hug, a wave of satisfaction and pride flooding over him. I saw Mr. Johnson wearing a smile with
thumbs up, which made me more confident. I knew that it was my teacher’s encouragement and trust that paved the

as well as the path to pursue my dream.

It was a typical Monday morning for Jenny, a diligent high school senior. The sound of her alarm clock woke
her up, a rude awakening from her sweet dreams. She unwillingly opened her eyes, knowing what waited for her-
another 5 long days at school.
Dragging herself out of bed, Jenny went through her usual morning routine. She hurriedly got dressed, grabbed
her backpack, and rushed to the kitchen for breakfast. Her mother had prepared a nutritious meal, but Jenny had no
appetite. She was too occupied with thoughts of an upcoming exam in her most challenging subject, mathematics.
As Jenny walked to school, her mind wandered back to the countless hours she had spent studying and
practicing equations (方程式). She had put in lots of effort, hoping to improve her grades. However, despite herdedication, she was struggling to achieve the desired results. Doubts started crawling in, and anxiety stayed in her
mind like dark clouds.
As students settled into their seats, Mr. Johnson, their math teacher, announced that the exam would take place
that afternoon. Jenny started to feel afraid. She suddenly realized that she had forgotten her calculator at home, an
essential tool for the exam. Panic turned into hopelessness, as she knew that borrowing one during the test would be
strictly prohibited.
Jenny’s friends, Emma and David, noticed her worry and approached her after class. They offered their help.
Emma suggested that Jenny be honest to Mr. Johnson and explain her situation. David, however, had a different plan.
