(A)
Do you often listen to music at loud volumes (音量)? You should know that this habit is
bad for your hearing. Over 1 billion young people are at risk of hearing loss (听力丧
失) ,because of listening to loud noise for long periods of time. Listening to music or
watching a TV show at loud volumes can harm your hearing.
The United Nations has standards for safe listening. It is not safe to listen to sounds that
are louder than 85 dB (分贝) for eight hours or 100 dB for 15 minutes. The sound of a busy
road is about 85 dB and the sound of a rock concert can be about 100 dB.
Loud noise is harmful to the inner ear. Most of us are bon with about 16,000 hair cells
(听毛细胞) in our inner ears. These cells notice sounds. However, listening to loud noise fora long time can make these cells work too hard and cause some of them to die. This is what
causes hearing loss. Once this happens, it's hard to get your hearing back.
Some people might think that their music isn't all that loud. But this can depend on
where you are. For example, if you are in a noisy place like the subway, you might turn up
your music too loud without realizing it. Later, when you listen to it at the same volume in a
quiet place, you alight feel uncomfortable
The "safe level" for most sound is below 80 dB for up to 40 hours a week. A level of 80
dB is about equal to (相当于) the noise of a subway.
Here is some advice on safe listening. Over-the-ear headphones (头戴式耳机) are better
than in-ear ones. They do a better job of stopping outside noise, so you can listen at a lower
volume. Don't listen to loud music on your headphones for a long time. Follow the 60:60 rule:
listen to music at 60 percent of your headphones' maximum volume for no more than 60
minutes a day.
26.It is safe to listen to sounds that are louder than 100 dB for 15 minutes
27.Listening to loud noise for a long time can cause some hair cells in the inner ear to die.
28.From the fourth paragraph, we know people don't always realize how loud their music is.
29.In-ear headphones are better than over-the-eat ones because they can stop more outside
noise.
30.This article mainly tells us why ears are an important part of our bodies.
26.B 27.A 28.A 29.B 30.B
26.根据第一段t is not safe to listen to sounds that are louder than 85 dB (分贝) for eight
hours or 100 dB for 15 minutes.
However, listening to loud noise for a long time can make these cells work
too hard and cause some of them to die.
For example, if you are in a noisy place like the subway, you might turn up
your music too loud without realizing it.
29.根据原文Over-the-ear headphones (头戴式耳机) are better than in-ear ones. They do a
(B)

Historically, most cars have run on gasoline(汽油), but that may change in the future:
cars can also run on other liquid fuels(液体燃料)and electricity.
Gasoline is from oil. The energy in gasoline comes from hydrocarbons(碳氢化合物).
Gasoline provides great power for cars. However, it causes environmental problems, like air
pollution and temperature rise. So gasoline can’t be the best fuel.Another choice is electricity. Electricity cars can be as efficient(效能好的)as cars
using gasoline. And they produce less pollution. But electric cars themselves are more
expensive. Good news is that the cost has been lower and there are more and more places for
the cars to get electricity ever since 2010.
The other choices are other liquid fuels. Many of these can be stored in the same places
as gasoline, and used in the same cars. They can also be friendly to the environment.
One way to make such fuels is to get CO from the air and put it in water. Through
2
chemical reaction, hydrocarbons can be created. However, these fuels take up more space.
Another way is to make such fuels from plants which take in carbon from the air. These
fuels are greener in use. But not all of them can be as efficient as gasoline.
For a fuel to be the best, people have to be able to afford it. Unluckily, almost every
green technology is more expensive than that of using gasoline. Governments and car
producers are doing everything they can to cut down the costs. In the end, the best fuel will be
both affordable for car users and green for our planet.
36.Gasoline provides cars with ________.
A.great power B.fresh air C.clean water D.enough space
37.According to Paragraph 3, we can infer that electric cars ________.
A.produce less pollution
B.will become more and more expensive
C.will become more popular
D.are more efficient than those using gasoline
38.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.How Do We Protect Our Planet? B.What Are the Fuels’ Differences?
C.What Is the Best Fuel for Cars? D.How Do We Make Fuels for Cars?
【答案】36.A 37.C 38.C
根据“Gasoline provides great power for cars.”
故选A。
根据“Good news is that the cost has been lower and there are more andmore places for the cars to get electricity ever since 2010.”
