Dear Peter,
I'm more than glad to receive your e-mail saying you are interested in Chinese movies. Among all the movies
I've watched, there's one that left a deep impression on me. I will introduce it to you in details.
American Dreams in China, directed by Peter Chan, is based on the real story of Yu Minhong who is the
founder of New Oriental School. The movie, focusing on friendship and dreams, mainly tells us the story of the
three partners setting up the largest English training school in China after meeting lots of difficulties. The director
pictures the changes in Chinese society with beautiful scenes and sentimental soundtrack. American Dreams in
China conveys the message that we should stick to our dreams.
I strongly recommend it to you because you can see a totally different China in it. I do hope you will enjoy it.
I am looking forward to receiving your feedback and sharing more with you.
Yours,

第二节:读后续写
One possible version:
She followed me, her mind wandering. Minutes later, we started to climb a steep slope. Jane sighed, dragging
her legs behind me. I was surprised to find some rarely-seen trees and flowers, and took many photos but Jane
showed no interest. She stopped and sat on a rock, thirsty, sweaty and bored. I handed her a bottle of water and we
took a break. “I missed my phone.” she complained as we continued climbing. Though unhappy, she just climbed
along with me.
Reaching the top, Jane widened her eyes, shouting, “How wonderful!” She looked around dreamily, her eyes
twinkling with wild excitement. A refreshing breeze brushed the mountain top, miles of trees spread out below us
and birds chirped between branches. We sat on a large rock and ate sandwiches, enjoying the sounds, the smells and
the sunlight. “Anyone still wants her phone?” I joked. She rolled her eyes, laughing out loud. The next morning,
Jane danced to my room, crying, “Let’s hike
around the lake today.” Sure, get our backpack then, I beamed, relieved and joyful.

The history of skiing dates back to ancient times. (18)The very first skis date back to about 8,000 years BC and
were found in Northern China. Besides, ancient rock carvings found in Norway also show early skiing.
(20) In fact, the English word "ski" comes from the Old Norse word "skio", which means "stick of wood",
indicating that early skis were likely made of wood and were long and narrow in shape. (19)(20) In ancient times,
skiing was a necessary way of carrying people from one place to another, (20) but now it has become a popular
recreational activity and a multi-billion dollar industry that contributes significantly to the economies of many
countries.
(20) In the 19th century, skiing became the latest craze for the wealthy. They would escape to the mountains to
participate in this activity. The ski spots in Switzerland and Austria served the upper class at that time. (20) As ski
technology advanced, skiing became a beloved sport for people from all walks of life. Today, advancements in ski
technology have made the sport safer and more enjoyable than ever before. Whether you are a beginner or an
experienced skier, there is no denying the excitement of skiing will attract you. Skiing is more than a sport. It is a
way that brings people together and creates unforgettable memories
