第六部分 应用文 (15 分)
Dear Eric,
I’m sorry to know that you feel your parents won’t listen to you when you communicate with
them, which makes you feel worried. I can understand the great trouble you are suffering from.
However, the situation is easy to change if you take my advice. First of all, you should listen to
your parents attentively when they talk to you. In this way you will be able to know your parents’
opinions better. What’s more, it’s a good idea to communicate with them personally and tell them
that you want to share your opinions with them.
Try to keep calm when your parents disagree with you. You’d better do some activities that your
whole family will enjoy together, which may help you get along better with your parents.
Hopefully, you will find my suggestions helpful.
Yours,
Li Hua

M: ⑪I know. Look at my hair! I’d forgotten how long it used to be. And my shirt! This is a horrible shirt.

M: ⑬Michelle, why are you dancing? I thought we had to study for our math test.
W: Oh, hi, Drake! I was just doing some exercise. I thought you wouldn’t get here until later. Let me turn the music
off.
M: ⑭You exercise by dancing? I thought activities like running and bicycling were considered as exercise.
W: Well, those are other good ways to work out, but I like to dance. It’s fun to move around to music, and you can
definitely work up a sweat. Do you like to dance?
M: I sometimes dance at parties, but I’m not a very good dancer. ⑮For exercise, I prefer playing soccer. I want
to get really good this year. I hope to make the soccer team in the fall.
W: Cool! I know you like to go to the park to play soccer on the weekends. Maybe you should try dancing, and I
will try playing soccer.
M: Do you know how to play soccer? It is really very easy once you try, but it does need some practice.
W: I can’t play soccer very well, even though I used to play a lot when I was a kid. If you teach me some of your
soccer moves, I’ll teach you some dance moves! How does that sound?
M: ⑯It’s a deal. If there weren’t the math test tomorrow, we could definitely go to the gym right now.
W: ⑯Right. No more fun and games. Let me get my notebook.
Text 10
M: ⑳In Australia, different people have their own ways of enjoyment and their own worlds in which to pass
time. Most children work hard in school since they have to take various exams. After school they do not want
to stay at home reading books any more. ⑰Instead, they put aside their schoolbags and go quickly to some
quiet street corners to play games. Some old people get up early in the morning and go to the parks to read
newspapers. After breakfast, they go to horse races, dog races and sometimes car races for betting. If they win,
they can buy themselves a good dinner. ⑱In the evening they stay at home, watching TV, some g times
with their grandchildren. Some old people also enjoy fishing and gardening. Young people prefer to go
outing during the holidays. ⑲At the weekends, they go to the seashore for swimming or to the forest for
hunting and camping, or to mountainous areas for picnicking. Then on Sunday evenings, they start their
long drive back home on the highways. Nobody seems in a hurry.
