(W) I'm going to start at Columbia University this September and going to travel the world
before it. So I'm saving money with a couple of parttime jobs. I work as a waitress in a restaurant
and as a sales assistant in a clothes shop. It is hard but worth it. Now I plan to finish my jobs in a
week. Then I'll fly out to Bangkok first. My plan is to travel southward through Thailand and
Malaysia. I'll travel on cheap trains and I'll save my money by only staying in the cheap hotels. I'll
pass through Singapore and go on to Indonesia. I'm going to spend about two months in Indonesia.
I will travel from one island to another by ship. Finally I'll fly to Darwin in Northern Australia and
spend about a month making my way down the east coast of Australia. I've been told that I can
make some money by picking fruit in Northern Australia. Also I'm thinking about getting some
parttime jobs in Sydney. I hope to finally arrive in Melbourne about six months after I set off from
New York. Then I'll come back to New York in August and prepare for my school.
