Dear Ryan,
Last week, our class visited the local history museum, which turned out to be a truly enriching
experience. I can’t wait to share my gain and reflection with you!
We explored various invaluable ancient Chinese objects, and I was particularly fascinated by a
set of bronze vessels that were used in some ceremonies thousands of years ago. Seeing these artifacts
up close made me realize the depth and richness of our cultural heritage. More notably, it also
highlighted the importance of preserving these historical treasures for future generations.
The trip not only deepened my understanding of history, but also inspired me to learn more about
our ancient civilizations. Now, I have a deep understanding of why preserving cultural heritage is so
important.
Yours,
Li Hua

I was completely shocked by the news. Gloomy and desperate, I sat silently in the room for what
seemed like ages, unsure of what to do next. Then I started to pace up and down like a caged animal,
debating with myself whether or not to go on stage alone. “How can this be possible?” I thought to
myself. Fear and anxiety coursed through my veins, and it seemed that all our hard work was in vain. But
then the thought of the support and encouragement from Emma and my mom came flooding back to me.
It was at the moment that I realized that I couldn’t let self-doubt hold me back. Filled with determination,
I resolved to proceed with the performance by myself.
Finally came the big moment. As I stepped onto the stage, I could feel my heart thumping wildly in
my chest. Glancing around the hall, I took a deep breath and began to sing. Surprisingly, all my worries
suddenly disappeared and a wave of confidence washed over me. I was completely immersed in the joy
of performing and the audience was spellbound by the passion in my voice. When I finished my song, the
whole hall burst into applause. Tears of joy welled up in my eyes as Emma presented a big bunch of
flowers to me, and my mum stood near, winking at us. From that day forward, I learned that by

men and women, young and old in America take part in this sport. ⑳Therefore, people are very likely to
believe that golf is the most popular hobby in America. But as a matter of fact, it isn’t. American football

see that the number of audience can be up to twenty thousand. ⑳This, however, is not the most popular
hobby, either. So, what is the most popular hobby in America? ⑲⑳Most surprisingly, the most popular
hobby with the largest group of people is home gardening. As we can see, some people grow flowers and
vegetables and others are very fond of caring for the grass. With evergreen grass and beautiful flowers in
the gardens, everyone seems to enjoy having a lively environment. ⑳Yes, home gardening is indeed the
most popular hobby as it offers everyone the pleasure from nature.
