touch
句中含有"be+of+名词"结构(相当于"be+形容词"),be of particular
interest=be particularly interesting,故填名词interest。65.than 考查介词。本句中含有more,空格后为比较对象,因此本空应填than。空前的so为
use sth. to do"用……
construct vt.
【易错点拨】 how much+不可数名词;how many+可数名词复数。

The polar bear is found in the Arctic Circle and some big land masses as far south as
Newfoundland. While they are rare north of 88°, there is evidence 61 they range all the way
across the Arctic, and as far south as James Bay in Canada. It is difficult to figure out a global
population of polar bears as much of the range has been 62 (poor) studied; however,
biologists calculate that there are about 20,000-25,000 polar bears worldwide.
Modern methods 63 tracking polar bear populations have been employed only
since the mid-1980s, and are expensive 64 (perform) consistently over a large area. In recent
years some Inuit people in Nunavut 65 (report) increases in bear sightings around human
settlements, leading to a 66 (believe) that populations are increasing. Scientists have
responded by 67 (note) that hungry bears may be congregating(聚集) around human
settlements, leading to the illusion (错觉) that populations are 68 (high) than they actually
are. Of 69 nineteen recognized polar bear subpopulations, three are declining, six 70
(be) stable, one is increasing, and nine lack enough data.
63.of/for 考查介词。名词method后接介词of/for,表示"……
way 常与介词 of 搭配,如:the way of learning English;approach 常与介词 to 搭配,如:the
approach to dealing with this problem;means 常与介词 of 搭配,如:an effective means of
communication。
In recent
years多与现在完成时连用,主语some Inuit people为复数意义,因此本空填have reported。
【技巧点拨】 现在完成时的其他标志性词语有:just, already, ever, never, yet, before, lately,
recently, for a long time, up to now, so far, in the last few years/weeks/months等。
higher。 Of the nineteen recognized polar bear subpopulations意为"在这19个已知

According to a review of evidence in a medical journal, runners live three years 61
(long) than non-runners. You don't have to run fast or for long 62 (see) the benefit. You may
drink, smoke, be overweight and still reduce your risk of 63 (die) early by running.
While running regularly can't make you live forever, the review says it 64 (be)
more effective at lengthening life 65
walking, cycling or swimming. Two of the authors of the review also made a study published in
2014 66 showed a mere five to 10 minutes a day of running reduced the risk of heart disease
and early deaths from all 67 (cause).
The best exercise is one that you enjoy and will do. But otherwise... it's probably running. To
avoid knee pain, you can run on soft surfaces, do exercises to 68 (strength) your leg
muscles(肌肉),avoid hills and get good running shoes. Running is cheap, easy and it's always
69 (energy). If you are time-poor, you need run for only half the time to get the same benefits as
other sports,so perhaps we should all give 70 a try.
句中有than,故用long的比较级longer。
短语reduce one's risk of...
66.that/which 考查定语从句。
give it a try意为"试一试",根据语境可知,it指代running。
Wudang martial arts based on the Taoist ideology ______(create) by a famous Taoist ______
(name) Zhang Sanfeng, in the early years of the Ming Dynasty.
【解析】 分析句子结构可知,第一空在句中作谓语,根据时间状语in the early years of the
were created。
Yet there is life — an astonishing_______(vary) of creatures that you'll never imagine.
【解析】 根据空前的an astonishing和空后的of可知,空处应填名词,a variety of为常见
As we all know, baked or fried foods may be _______(taste), but eating too many of them will
_______(probable) result in some illnesses.
Also, search engines rank by_______(popular)rather than accuracy,so solid facts can be tricky to
find.
There is no denying the fact that elective courses can _______ (broad) our horizons.
The ______ (hard)you try to beat him,the more likely you will get hit.He controls you!
She licked the baby constantly to keep it clean.Any smell might attract natural _______
(enemy)that would try to eat the little panda.
Students involved in service projects help _______ (they) as well as their communities.
They don't give up;instead, they remind themselves how important _______ is to keep going.【解析】 分析句式可知,空处在宾语从句中作形式主语,代替后面不定式短语to keep
going,故填it。
Relaxation is very necessary, _______ will enhance your awareness and ability to concentrate.
However, the railway quickly proved to be a great success and within six months, more than
25,000 people were using _______ every day.
查的限定词包括冠词(a, an, the)、关系词(whose等)、疑问代词(what, which等)和不定代词
(no, some, any, each, every, either, neither, many等)。
Mary Moe may look like _______ average grandmother, but she is not.
The old bank, _______ appearance is not a pretty sight, is extremely beautiful on the inside.
The old
bank;根据句意可知,The old bank与appearance之间为所属关系,故用whose。
However, ads are not just a tool for getting people to buy things; they also serve _______ a
window into culture, society and history.
serve as sth.
It was time for her to have a new baby, _______ it was also time for the young panda to be
independent.
_______ it cried, she rocked it back and forth and gave it comforting pats.
故填When/If。
The next day, my brother and I went to the beach _______ we watched some people play
volleyball.
Teens came together to do projects for people who are _______ old or poor to do them.
+to do sth." 故填too。
填助动词(do, does, did, have, has, had等)或情态动词(can, may等)。
What is acceptable in one country _______ be considered extremely rude in another.
What is acceptable in one country"是主语从句,空格后的be considered是
Then the driver stood up and asked, "_______ anyone lose a suitcase at the last stop?"

These days, it is not unusual for 10- to 12-year-olds to publish their own websites or for

Something significant is happening to the world population — it is aging. The median(中位
数的) age of an American in 1950 56 (be) 30 — today it is 41 and is expected 57
(increase) to 42 by 2050. For Japan, the 58 (number) are more striking — 22 in 1950, 46
today and 53 in 2050. In 2015, one in 12 people around the world were over 65; by 2050, it will be
one in six.
This aging of the population is driven 59 two factors. The first is declining birth rates,
which means old generations are large 60 (compare) to younger generations, and so, on
average, the population becomes 61 (old) than before. This is 62 (particular) true in theUS. The second reason is that people are living longer. A child born in the US today has 63
very realistic chance of living beyond 100 and needs to plan accordingly.
People tend to focus on the first factor. However, greater attention should 64 (place) on
longevity(长寿). It isn’t just that people are, on average, living longer. It’s also that they are on
average healthier 65 more productive for longer. Therefore, they can work for longer,
consume more and in general be a boost to the economy.

I work not because I have to, 6 7 because I want to."
Granddaughter Gayle Parks, 31 — who works alongside her in the family business — said it
remained unknown as to who nominated Irene for the award. She said, "We don’t have any idea
who put grandma forward. When we got a call 68 (say) she was short-listed, we thought it

She looks like any other schoolgirl, fresh-faced and full of life. Sarah Thomas is looking

Few people I know seem to have much desire or time to cook. Making Chinese 56
(dish) is seen as especially troublesome. Many westerners 5 7 come to China cook much less
than in their own countries once they realize how cheap 58 can be to eat out. I still
remember 59 (visit) a friend who’d lived here for five years and I 60 (shock) when I
learnt she hadn’t cooked once in all that time.
While regularly eating out seems to 61 (become)common for many young people in
recent years, it’s not without a cost. The obvious one is money; eating out once or twice a week
may be 62 (afford) but doing this most days adds up. There could be an even 63
(high) cost on your health. Researchers have found that there is a direct link between the increase
in food eaten outside the home and the rise in 6 4 (weigh) problems.
If you are not going to suffer this problem, then I suggest that the next time you go to your
mum’s home 65 dinner, get a few cooking tips from her. Cooking food can be fun. You
might also begin to notice the effects not only on your health but in your pocket.

There has been a recent trend in the food service industry toward lower fat content and less
salt. This trend, which was started by the medical community(医学界) 61 a method of
fighting heart disease, has had some unintended side 62 (effect) such as overweight
and heart disease — the very thing the medical community was trying to fight.Fat and salt are very important parts of a diet. They are required 63 (process) the food
that we eat, to recover from injury and for several other bodily functions. When fat and salt 64
(remove) from food, the food tastes as if it is missing something. As 65 result, people will
eat more food to try to make up for that something missing. Even 66 (bad), the
amount of fast food that people eat goes up. Fast food 67 (be) full of fat and salt; by 68
(eat) more fast food people will get more salt and fat than they need in their diet.
Having enough fat and salt in your meals will reduce the urge to snack(吃点心) between
meals and will improve the taste of your food. However, be 69 (care) not to go to extremes.
Like anything, it is possible to have too much of both, 7 0 is not good for the health.

speechless by the mountains being silently reflected in the water. He passed milky white waterfalls
and mountains in many shades of blue. And when he saw the mists rising from the river and the
soft clouds 69 (surround) the mountain tops, he was reduced to tears. The artist was finally
humbled(谦卑) by the greatest artist 7 0 earth, Mother Nature.

Many people have the hobby of collecting things, e.g. stamps, postcards or antiques. In the
