1.阅读理解能力。首先,要把握故事的写作意图和目的以及作者对人物、事件的情感和态度;
1.词数适当(词数少于130的,从总分中减去2分);
2.与短文和所给段落开头语的衔接程度;
3.内容的丰富性(浙江卷读后续写还应注意对所标出的关键词语的使用情况);
4.所用语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性;
5.上下文的连贯性;
6.拼写、标点符号的准确性;
The Meredith family lived in a small community. As the economy was in decline, some
people in the town had lost their jobs. Many of their families were struggling to make ends meet.
People were trying to help each other meet the challenges.
Mrs. Meredith was a most kind and thoughtful woman. She

spent a great deal of time visiting the poor. She knew they had problems, and they needed all kinds
of help. When she had time, she would bring food and medicine to them.
One morning she told her children about a family she had visited the day before. There was a
man sick in bed, his wife, who took care of him and could not go out to work, and their little boy.
The little boy — his name was Bernard — had interested her very much.
"I wish you could see him," she said to her own children,
John, Harry, and Clara. "He is such a help to his mother. He wants verymuch to earn some money,
but I don't see what he can do."
After their mother left the room, the children sat thinking about Bernard. "I wish we could help
him to earn money," said Clara. "His family is suffering so much."
"So do I," said Harry. "We really should do something to assist them."
For some moments, John said nothing, but, suddenly, he sprang to his feet and cried, "I have a
great idea! I have a solution that we can all help accomplish(完成). "
The other children also jumped up all attention. When John had an idea, it was sure to be a
good one. "I tell you what we can do," said John. "You know that big box of corn Uncle John sent
us? Well, we can make popcorn(爆米花), and put it into paper bags, and Bernard can take it
around to the houses and sell it."
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
Paragraph 1:
When Mrs. Meredith heard of Johns idea, she thought it was a good one, too.
Paragraph 2:
With everything ready, Bernard started out on his new business.
Mrs.Meredith,John,Harry,Clara,Bernard, the sick man and his wife
Bernard
Paragraph 1:When Mrs. Meredith heard of John's idea, she thought it was a good one, too. She nodded with
a smile and encouraged the children,"Let's get started!" Immediately, Clara volunteered to find the
materials to make popcorn. At the same time, John went to purchase some paper bags and
arranged all the stuff in place. Harry ran to the Bernard's and dragged him to the scene. After
hearing the explanation,
Bernard was overwhelmed by excitement and gratitude.Time
went by quickly, and the children laughed, carrying out their great "project". Joy filled the yard
and everyone's heart.
Paragraph 2:
With everything ready, Bernard started out on his new business. Carrying all the paper bags, he
called out,"Popcorn! 50 cents for one extra-large pack!" People started to gather around him,
which drew even more people. Everyone was ready to buy one pack to support him. The air was
full of happiness and kindness. Within no time, Bernard sold out all popcorn and earned quite
some money. On returning, he thanked the Meredith family with watery eyes. For Clara, Harry
and John, it was an unforgettable experience as well. It turned out that they not only helped a boy
in need, but also gave themselves the sweet taste of helping others.
dragged him to the scene(把他拽到现场),was overwhelmed by excitement and gratitude(激动万
The air was full of happiness and kindness(空气中弥漫着幸福和善意),with watery
eyes(眼睛泪汪汪的),the sweet taste of helping others(帮助别人的甜蜜滋味)。
Writing 2
It was summer, and my dad wanted to treat me to a vacation like never before. He decided to
take me on a trip to the Wild West.
We took a plane to Albuquerque, a big city in the state of New Mexico. We reached
Albuquerque in the late afternoon. Uncle Paul, my dad's friend, picked us up from the airport and
drove us up to his farm in Pecos.
His wife Tina cooked us a delicious dinner and we got to know
his sons Ryan and Kyle. My dad and I spent the night in the guestroom of the farm house listeningto the frogs and water rolling down the river nearby. Very early in the morning, Uncle Paul woke
us up to have breakfast. "The day starts at dawn on my farm," he said. After breakfast, I went to
help Aunt Tina feed the chickens, while my dad went with Uncle Paul to take the sheep out to
graze (吃草). I was impressed to see my dad and Uncle Paul riding horses. They looked really
cool.
In the afternoon, I asked Uncle Paul if I could take a horse ride, and he said yes, as long as my
dad went with me. I wasn't going to take a horse ride by myself anyway. So, my dad and I put on
our new cowboy hats, got on our horses, and headed slowly towards the mountains. "Don't be late
for supper," Uncle Paul cried, "and keep to the track so that you don't get lost!" "OK!" my dad
cried back. After a while Uncle Paul and his farm house were out of sight. It was so peaceful and
quiet and the colors of the brown rocks, the deep green pine trees, and the late afternoon sun
mixed to create a magic scene. It looked like a beautiful woven (编织的) blanket spread out upon
the ground just for us.
注意:
1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;
2.至少使用5个短文中标有下划线的关键词语;
3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;
Paragraph 1:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse.
Paragraph 2:
We had no idea where we were and it was getting dark.
浅显易懂,字里行间透露出假日旅游的轻松快乐,这一切凸显了高考命题的基础性这一特点;
dad,Uncle Paul,farm house,river,feed,sheep,late,track,get lost,sight
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse"是故事发展的转折
We had no idea where we were and it was getting dark"呼应前文Uncle Paul
Paragraph 1:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse. It was so cute that Dad and I decided
to chase it. After a while, we got lost in the forest. There was nothing in sight but the trees. "We
may not be able to go back to the farm house in time for supper," I thought to myself. After a
series of fruitless attempts to find the way out, we felt hungry and tired.
Paragraph 2:
We had no idea where we were and it was getting dark. We got stuck in the forest. And an
unexpected shower added to the difficulty of finding our way, because we couldn't see the track in
the rain. I was on the edge of despair when my father said, "Don't worry, my boy. I remember
there is a river near the farm house. Find the river and we will be back there." Finally, we found
the river and got back.
hungry and tired" "an unexpected shower" "couldnt see the track"。
Paragraph 1:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse. My horse turned to the left to avoid
the little rabbit as I pulled tightly on the reins and tried not to fall. Then my dad turned around and
shouted,"Hold on!" All of a sudden, the horse began to run. My dad tried to keep up with us. For a
few minutes, my horse slowed to a trot and then stopped beside a river. I looked around and
realized that we were off the track.
Paragraph 2:
We had no idea where we were and it was getting dark. Luckily
the stars came out and gave us a little light when we were finding our way to the farm house.
Several hours later,we suddenly heard the sounds of sheep in the distance. My dad and I both rode
our horses towards the sounds of the sheep. As we got closer we saw Uncle Paul waving to us with
a flashlight. What a special night!
I looked around and realized that we were
和the sounds of sheep让故事完美收尾。

It was lunchtime. Jerry, David, Tom and I went to the dining hall to have lunch. I glanced
across the busy cafeteria and saw the new student, Jack. He was holding his plate and waiting in
line.David noticed him too. "Why is the new kid dressed like the headmaster?" he asked. Tom and
Jerry laughed.
"Jack’s cool. He’s in my English and history classes," I said. However, I kept the truth that
Jack and I had become friends when we worked on a project together. We discovered that we were
both enthusiastic readers — something I would never admit to Jerry, David and Tom.
I saw that Jack was walking toward us. "Don’t do it,"I thought, but in seconds he was at our
table. My friends raised their eyebrows. Jerry, David and Tom piled their backpacks on the table
and chairs so that there was no space left for another person to sit down. David said,"I don’t think
we have room."
This awkward situation froze the air. I could feel Jack looking at me, but I stared at my lunch
as if it had contained precious pearls of wisdom instead of rice and beans. After a long,
uncomfortable pause, Jack left. I should have spoken up for him, but I couldn’t walk away from
my three friends, could I?
Jack didn’t speak to me after that meeting. He was soon hanging around with another group
of kids. A few months later, I saw an announcement about Jack being chosen to be president of the
school book club. I was happy for Jack’s achievement, but I realized I had made a big mistake
when I said nothing at the lunch table that day. Why was I so afraid that my friends might find out
that I like to read?
As I stared at the announcement, I knew I needed to apologize to Jack — even if he did not
want to become my friend again. I thought that my three friends would not agree. I also thought
that I risked losing them as well. However, I knew that I would lose myself if I did nothing.

"Ada! Milk!" Mama called.
It was Ada’s turn to get milk. Ada sighed and shut her first-aid book. Her head ached from
reading in the dim morning light, but how else could she learn?
Ada tied the cow close to a tree. Somewhere down the mountain, some volunteer doctors
were teaching medical skills to village nurses. Ada heard Doctor Betty drive off hours ago."She
should have taken me with her. She thinks I’m too young, but she’s wrong. I am already 16!"Ada
thought.
Ada carried the milk back to Mama, and then wandered up the road. Roy,a village boy,got a
donkey, and some kids gathered around to see it. Roy was always doing something to get
attention. He was trying to stand on the animal’s bare back.
"No wonder they don’t trust kids with anything important," Ada thought, sighing. She had just
turned away when she heard a thud and a few screams. Roy lay on the ground nearby moaning in
pain. The donkey stood several meters away."Roy!" The kids nearby ran towards him."Get Betty,"
one said. Ada shook her head."Betty’s gone to the city." The other kids seemed frozen.
Ada ran to where Roy was lying. She dropped to her knees on the dusty road."Roy! Can you
hear me?" Roy moaned in agony. Ada saw that one of his legs was crooked, bent a little sideways
between the knee and the ankle. A broken leg!
She remembered what the first-aid book had said about broken legs: if there is no
ambulance, straighten the bone before moving the victim. There certainly wouldn’t be any
ambulance here. Ada looked back up the road. The other kids were still standing
there, watching."Victor!" Ada called to one of the boys."Go and get Roy’s mama, and find someone
with a truck." She turned to the others."Give me your shirts. We need something to tie his leg
with."注意:

Through our lives, we can gain a lot and lose much. But we should always be honest, as
honesty is always regarded as a virtue. Every time I talk about the topic, something crowds into
my mind as if it had just happened.
I was 16 when one morning, Dad told me I could drive him to Mijas and then take the car to a
nearby garage to get it serviced. At that time, I had just passed the driving test, and I hardly had a
chance to use the car, so I said yes without hesitation.
I drove my father to Mijas, promising to pick him up again at 4 pm, and then I went to a
nearby garage, and put the car in there. Since I had several hours to spare and there was a movie
theater near the garage, I decided to go to the movies. However, I was so absorbed in the movie
that I forgot the time. When the last movie finished, I looked at my watch — 6 pm. I was two
hours late!
I thought my father would be very angry if he knew what I was doing. And he would never
let me drive again. So I decided to make up an excuse. Then, I drove to the appointed place. My
father was sitting in a corner, waiting patiently. I first apologized for being late, and then told him
that I wanted to get there as soon as possible, but something was wrong with some of the main
parts of the car.I would never forget the way he looked at me. "I’m very disappointed that you thought you
had to lie to me, Jason." My father looked at me again and said, "When you didn’t show up on
time, I called the garage and asked if there was anything wrong. They told me you never picked up
the car. So, you see, I know there’s nothing wrong with the car at all."

Amanda felt as gray as the sky outside when she looked across the table at her three-year-old
sister. Li sat on a booster seat, drinking from her sippy cup. Wondering why Li was still afraid of
her, Amanda took a cookie off her plate and held it out to Li, "Want a bite?"
As soon as Li saw Amanda reaching out her hand, her eyes widened. She jumped down from
her seat and raced to her room. What an annoyance! Amanda complained to Mom that she had
thought being a big sister would be fun. Mom took Amanda’s hand, reminding her that Li was in a
new country with a new family and how scared she might be.
"Honey, she is still getting used to you," Mom added. "It’s only been two weeks."
Over a year ago, Amanda’s parents said that they were adopting a daughter from China, and
Amanda danced with excitement. She’d dreamed of taking her sister to the park, reading booksto her, and teaching her to ride a bicycle. Those didn’t happen, though. In the weeks since their
trip to China, Li only let their mom and dad near her. Amanda drew pictures for her, read to her,
and made funny faces, but none worked. Whenever she got close, Li ran away.
"I just wish I knew how to help her," Amanda said to herself, thinking of Li’s frightened eyes.
As she sat onto the couch, she turned on the TV and began to watch a cartoon about a dog and a
cat. After a few seconds, Amanda realized that the cartoon was in another language. The show
looked funny, but she didn’t understand any of it. She frowned, turning off the TV. It reminded her
of the time when they were in China. She got frustrated when people talked in Mandarin, the
language spoken in Li’s country.

The tiny village of Sundial never seemed to get very cold. In the ten short years of his life,
Andy had only ever seen snow on three occasions. Due to the extreme heat this year, the villagers
of Sundial were rather surprised when a snowman walked down from the mountains and into their
tiny village. The snowman wore a thick white coat and a large blue hat over his round head. The villagers
stared at the man made of snow. "Is he a monster?" They whispered among themselves, afraid
that he would attack them. The snowman, however, just wandered into the library, grabbed some
books, and began reading.
Andy, ever a curious boy, walked up to the snowman. "Why are you wearing such thick
clothes? Are you cold?" The snowman shook his head. "Want to go play?" Andy asked. The
snowman nodded and they spent the day running through the woods, playing hide-and-seek. As
the sun set, the snowman waved goodbye to his little friend and left Sundial, passing by Andy’s
home on his way back to the mountains.
Andy’s father, the village head, saw the snowman when he looked out of the window at the
setting sun. Cold sweat dripped down his face. The following Sunday, he gave the villagers a very
different meeting.
The next time the snowman came to the village, the people of Sundial were ready, armed
with rocks and torches(火把). The strike was cruel. One of his coal eyes was knocked out, rolling
down into the snowfield. As the snowman desperately tried to flee, Andy’s father struck him with
a little torch, setting his coat on fire. The melting snowman rolled around, struggling to put out
the blazing flames. As his melting body extinguished the flames, the snowman fled the village of
Sundial.
"Let him go,"Andy’s father said. "If he’s smart, he won’t come back." He turned around to
find his son on his knees, crying. "It’s alright, son. He won’t bother us again."

I was watching TV in the living room with my grandpa when a blinding flash of lightning(闪
电) flashed across the sky, followed by a deafening sound, and the pictures disappeared with that
sound. Before I knew it, a gray-white shadow had rushed in through the window and flown over
my head. Bang! It hit the wall and slid off the wall to the floor. I was shaking with fear. I came
closer and saw that it was a pigeon(鸽子). It looked at me in fear, trying to open its wings, but
powerless.
So I gave it a helping hand. I felt a few drops of warm liquid on my hands as I lifted it. They
were blood! I gently spread its wings and there were a few red feathers inside. "Don’t worry. We’ll
get it out alive," Grandpa said to me. Then he took some cotton. We dried the blood, cleaned the
wound, and then put it under a hair dryer to dry. All went better, for it had no strength left to resist.
There happened to be an empty birdcage at home, so I put it in, and added a little water and some
grains. After settling it down, I went to take my lunch break.
For the next few days, as soon as I got home from school, I would run to feed the pigeon.
Little by little its strength returned. One evening, while I was drawing at the table, I found it was
eating biscuits. A few days later, its wound was better, its feathers grew and it became brave.
Whenever I sat at the table to eat a biscuit, it did not wait to one side as before, but instead looked
up at me for a biscuit. To my joy, I could not only feed it the biscuit, but also touch it with my
fingers. To my delight, I gently fingered its head, and it playfully pecked (啄) at me. After it
completely recovered, I tied an orange rope around its leg to make it look pretty.

A tornado(龙卷风)hit a small town nearby, leaving many families completely destroyed.
Afterward all the local newspapers carried many human interest stories featuring some of the
families who suffered the most difficult period to appeal to people’s attention and assistance.
One Sunday, a particular picture especially touched me. A young woman stood in front of a
simple mobile home, with a depressed expression on her face. A young boy, seven or eight years
old, stood at her side, eyes downcast. Hiding behind her skirt was a tiny girl who stared into the
camera, wide eyes with confusion and fear. The article that went with the picture gave the clothing
size of each family member. With growing interest, I noticed that the sizes of the family closely
matched ours. This would be a good opportunity to teach my seven-year-old twins, Brad and
Brett, and three-year-old Meghan to help those less fortunate than themselves.
"We have so much. And these poor people now have nothing," I said. "We’ll share what we
have with them." I brought three large boxes down from the room upstairs and placed them on the
living room floor. Meghan watched seriously, as the boys and I filled one of the boxes with canned
goods and food. While I sorted through our clothes, I encouraged the boys to go through their toys
and donate some of their less favorite things. The boys were pleased to join. Brad rose and went to
his room fast. He came back bringing his action figures that he played with not so frequently. Brett
also jumped up and ran to fetch some of his Matchbox cars and airplane models. Meghan watched
quietly as the boys piled up abandoned toys. The boys placed the objects they had chosen to donate into one of the boxes while I filled the
third box with clothes. Meghan walked up with Lucy, her worn, faded, best-loved rag doll hugged
tightly to her chest. "I’ll help you find something for the little girl, too," I said to little Meghan.
