✦ 先看例句

核心考点是：原因状语从句+动名词作宾语   这是新版外研九上的知识点

✦定位谓语动词

1、全句共有四个动词或带有动词性质的结构：was,had to give up,playing,stayed。

2、其中was是由since引导的原因状语从句的谓语动词，playing是动名词(非谓语),had to为情态动词短语，give up是实义动词短语，had to give up共同构成主句的第一个谓语，stayed是主句的并列谓语。

3、因此，主句真正的谓语动词是had to give up和stayed(并列谓语)。

✦ 拆解其它成分

1、Since:引导原因状语从句，意为“因为，由于”。

2、outside:副词作状语，修饰playing football,意为“在外面”。

3、at home:介词短语作状语，修饰stayed,意为“在家”。

✦ 翻译整句&作文套用

1、精准翻译：因为天气很糟糕，我们不得不放弃在外面踢足球，然后待在了家里。

2、作文套用模板：Since +句子(原因),Sb.have to give up doing sth.and do sth.else.

3、高分造句示范：Since I was ill I had to give up attending the party and stayed in bed torest.(因为我生病了，我不得不放弃参加派对，躺在床上休息。)

1、陷阱(动名词作宾语):give up后面必须接动名词(doing),不能接动词原形，极易错填成to do导致丢分!

2、考点(原因状语从句):since引导原因状语从句时，语气较弱
