Several Chinese consumers who paid just over 100 yuan for  __? __ they believed were "Camel" outdoor jackets were surprised to find the logo on their purchases was a donkey, not a camel —— sparking debate over lookalike branding.
Several Chinese consumers ... were surprised to find ...
_____ they believed were "Camel" outdoor jackets
__ were "Camel" outdoor jackets
were。 (paid … for …
what they believed were...
for what one believed/ for what one thought/ for what one said...
that:
which:
as:
Several Chinese consumers who paid just over 100 yuan for what they believed were "Camel" outdoor jackets were surprised to find the logo on their purchases was a donkey, not a camel —— sparking debate over lookalike branding.
Several Chinese consumers
谓语:were surprised to find…
who paid just over 100 yuan for what they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets
paid … for …
just over 100 yuan 是支付金额,“略高于100元”。
what they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets
the things / the jackets that…
整个 what they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets 是名词性关系分句,作介词 for 的宾语。
在分句内部,what 作 were 的主语;“Camel” outdoor jackets 是表语。
the jackets that they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets
the jackets that they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets
或者
the jackets which they believed were “Camel” outdoor jackets
were surprised to find…
be surprised to do sth:惊讶地发现/做某事。
the logo on their purchases was a donkey, not a camel
这里省略了 that:find (that) the logo… was…
the logo 是单数,所以用 was。
a donkey, not a camel
—— sparking debate over lookalike branding
所以,这个空填 what,构成 for what they believed were…
Several Chinese consumers who paid just over 100 yuan for what they believed were "Camel" outdoor jackets were surprised to find the logo on their purchases was a donkey, not a camel —— sparking debate over lookalike branding.
  1. paid just over 100 yuan里的 over表示“超过、略多于”,即“支付了略高于100元”。

严格说,基础形式是5个:who, whom, whose, what, which。
as, as if, because,that,whether,if 是从属连词,
when、where、why、how whenever,wherever
