第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(满分15分)
Dear Jenny,
I really like the idea of adding a new column to our English newspaper. It provides a great opportunity to
share our ideas. As far as I am concerned, the column “ Fun at my school” is a better choice. My reasons
are as follows.
I believe this column will be more engaging for the majority of our classmates. It can cover a wide
range of topics such as club experiences, amazing discoveries and extracurricular activities that take place
in our school. They are not only fun, but also reflect our vibrant campus life. Moreover, it can encourage
more students to participate in school activities and share their experiences, which will make our
newspaper more colorful and appealing.
Thank you for considering my suggestion. Looking forward to your reply and the new column in our
newspaper.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节(满分25分)
But wait — had I forgotten something? The bus had gone three stops when a shock hit me: I’d stuffed the
hot dog in my mouth and dashed off without paying! My face burned as I imagined the vendor’s angry face. At the
next stop, I raced back to the corner. “I’m so sorry! I forgot to pay for the hot dog,” I gasped for air, reaching out
for my wallet. The vendor just smiled, wiping his cart. “Don’t worry about it, young lady.” Confused, I stared at
him. “But—” “Wait a second,” he cut in, still grinning.
“Someone has paid for it,” the vendor smiled. “The lady you helped with the oranges. She bought a hot
dog and said, ‘Please give this to the kind girl who helped me — she deserves the best hot dog in the world!’” Myeyes widened. I remembered seeing her at the stand from the bus. The vendor handed me a napkin: “She left this
for you.” On it, a note read: “Kindness is the best sauce.” I bit into an imaginary hot dog, tasting not just bread and
chilli, but the warmth of a circle completed — and realized I’d gotten the best hot dog indeed.

Text 1 (面试表现)
W: So, Alex, tell me. How did the interview go? Were you nervous?
M: Definitely, but I think I said all the right things, and they seemed really impressed.
W: Great! Well, I hope it goes well and they offer you a job.
Text 2 (交通事故)
M: The car was a total loss. Did you see it?
W: Yes. And it's unbelievable that three women and a baby were not hurt in the horrible accident.
Text 3 (新护照照片)
M: Have you seen my new passport photograph? I put it on the desk yesterday.
W: Oh, yes, I showed it to Peter today. Then I put it on the bookshelf. It's still there.
Text 4 (谈论职业)
M: Did you start out with an academic career in mind, professor?
W: No, not at all. Believe it or not, I was once a world- class golfer, but I got injured in my twenties, so I went to
university to study law instead.
Text 5 (出席会议)
M: Helen, there is a meeting this Friday. You are required to be present at the time.
W: Sorry, manager. I'm afraid I can't. My mother is coming to visit me then.
M: But you must attend the meeting.
W: All right, I'll tell my mother to put off her visit for a week.
Text 6 (向朋友倾诉)
M: I just saw Alice over there. She didn't look happy. Do you know why?
W: She wanted to go shopping with me, but I told her I had to help my mother clean the house this afternoon. Then
she became unhappy.
M: Why?
W: ⑥ She thinks we should do everything together. Well, it's true that we used to do everything
together. But we' re no longer kids. We just can't spend every minute together now.
M: I know what you mean and I agree. ⑦Maybe you should have a talk with her.
W: That's right.
Text 7 (伦敦西区)
W: Hello. Can I help you?
M: Yes, er…I am going to see the West End. But I just have one day.
W: Well, you can go shopping in the morning in Oxford Street.
M: How do I get there?
W: ⑧You can walk through Hyde Park. It's quite near.
M: Are there any restaurants in Oxford Street?W: Yes, there are many around the art galleries. You can have lunch there.
M: Are there any museums near Oxford Street?
W: ⑧Yes, the British Museum. You can go there in the afternoon.
M: ⑨I want to go to the theater in the evening.
W: Well, there are many theaters near there. ⑧You can take a bus from the British Museum.
M: Perfect. Thanks for your help.
W: You’ re welcome. Have a good time!
Text 8 (两种期末考试形式)
W: Dr. Anderson, some of us are a little bit confused about the final examination.
M: Well, you have two options in this course. You can either take a final examination or you can write a research
paper.
W: ⑩What kind of research paper did you have in mind? A study, a book review or a report?
M: ⑩A report. A summary really, based upon current research in the field.
W: How long should the report be?
M: At least five pages. You should finish it in three days. Are you considering writing a paper, Jane?
W: I'm not sure. I think I'd like to know a little bit more about the examination.
M: All right. ⑪It will be one hundred multiple- choice questions covering both the lectures and the
⑪
outside readings.
W: Didn't you say that you would give us one hour to finish it?
M: Yes, I did.
W: That must be difficult. I'm going to do the research paper.
Text 9 (开业促销)
⑫
W: Welcome to Danny’s Tools & Equipment. As part of our grand opening, all items in rows one and two are on
sale from 2: 00 p. m. until closing time. This is bigger than Christmas sale.
⑬
M: If I knew it was only today, I would have come much earlier. I only have one hour left.
W: Actually, our business hours are from 10: 00 a. m. to 5: 00 p. m. But we are closing one hour late today.
M: That's great.
⑭
W: The store doesn't let anyone in after the business hours. Those who are already inside can keep shopping until
closing time. So, take your time.
M: Oh, OK. And are all the items in rows one and two half price?
W: It's all half price.
⑮
M: Fine, I'd like to use this discount code I found online. It's $15 off an electronic product.
⑮
W: The sale I announced is only for items in rows one and two, not for row three. However, you may still use
the discount code for the electronic product.
⑯
M: I'd like to do that, then.
Text 10 (文化旅游节目)
W: Hello, everyone. Welcome to today's programme Culture Travel. Today I will talk about America. No
matter where you go in the United States, you'll find one or more very good golf courses. Both men and women,
⑰ ⑱
young and old in America take part in this sport. Therefore, people are very likely to believe that golf is the
⑳most popular hobby in America. But as a matter of fact, it isn't. American football dates back to the 19th century. If
you have ever been to a football game in America, you'd be surprised to see that the number of audience can be up
to twenty thousand.
This, however, is not the most popular hobby, either. So, what is the most popular hobby in America?
Most surprisingly, the most popular hobby with the largest group of people is home gardening. As we can see,
⑳
some people grow flowers and vegetables and others are very fond of caring for the grass. With evergreen grass and
⑲⑳
beautiful flowers in the gardens, everyone seems to enjoy having a lively environment. Yes, home gardening is
indeed the most popular hobby as it offers everyone the pleasure from nature.
