W:Hello everyone.I’m very glad to be here to talk to you.People need to feel secure and comfortable so
they can be creative.Well-designed workplaces often create environments that make employees better
thinkers. So today,I’ll talk about how to design workplaces that inspire creativity.I hope you can find
it useful.First, the colour of the office walls.Decorate your office with green.Other bright colours such as
light blue and yellow can also increase creativity.Calmer colours help us concentrate.Green also reminds
us of nature, which may help us to relax.Avoid red when you are choosing a colour. While it can give us a
feeling of energy,it also affects our ability to analyze information. Then, let’s turn to lighting.Lighting is
also important.Too dark, workers can feel sleepy. While,if it is too bright,it can make them feel anxious. The
best kind of lighting is natural light. It makes us happier and more productive. When it comes to artificial
lighting, warm colours are the best. But if we need to concentrate,a bluer light is better.Space is another
important matter.A company might want to develop a variety of spaces in an office so staff can find
privacy if needed, but also work in open areas for creative thinking.

Emma Watson entered our lives as the perfect Hermione Granger in 2001,and nowadays,we’re just as
much in love with this charming, intelligent British girl,as ever. You may or may not be a Potter head, but a
lot of people are charmed by Emma Watson’s perfection.
更多资料添加微信号:hiknow_007 淘宝搜索店铺:乐知课堂Despite being a star performer at the young age of 11,she’s never gone the Hollywood-spoiled-child
route. In fact, she made all attempts to stay as normal as possible. She said,“Ignoring fame was my
rebellion,in a funny way.I was insistent on being normal and doing normal things. It probably wasn’t
advisable to go to college in America and room with a complete stranger. And it probably wasn’t wise to
share a bathroom with eight other people in a dormitory.Looking back,I think that was crazy.”
She added,“I was very well-educated.My dad paid for me to go to a very good school,so I worked
hard every single day at that school to make him proud of me.And I did,and I still do.”
If we had to imagine what Hermione Granger would have grown up to be like,we would say she’d be
the Emma Watson of the Potter universe because there really is no way to separate the two.In the last few
years,Emma has added more feathers to her cap than we imagined being humanly possible, which include
actor, scholar, model and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. In her role as a UN Women Goodwill
Ambassador, she’d supported powerful causes to the best of her ability and brought them all the attention
they deserve.
Emma Watson gave us the most accurate description of our favorite girl from the Potter
universe.“Young girls are told you have to be a delicate princess.Hermione taught them that you can be a
warrior.”

更多资料添加微信号:hiknow_007 淘宝搜索店铺:乐知课堂Violette Childe,67,is a dining companion who helps serve patients lunches. The role was introduced
ten years ago by a dietitian concerning that some patients were not eating their meals.
“Many of our patients are elderly and can be confused by the noisy, busy environment of the hospital
and so won’t focus on eating,” explains Yvonne Donglas-Morris,head of volunteering, who oversees the
activities of all 528 of the trusty volunteers.“Staff are busy with the clinical side of things,so the dining
companions were introduced. They will assist the patients and encourage them to eat.”
Violette,a retired library manager, has been helping out for six years.“It makes me feel a bit more
complete,” she says simply.“Helping with the meals frees up the nurses to get on with other things.I

those aged 70 and over—leaving hospital to return to an empty home. The team has a budget of £10 per
person and will pop to the shops and buy milk, bread and a meal to tide them over for the first few
hours. They then call the patients regularly, for as long as they need,to check how they are getting on and if
they need extra support.
The volunteers in Kingston work from a dedicated office—a small room in one of the buildings on the
hospital grounds, where a Christmas tree decorated with baubles (小饰物) bearing the faces of volunteers
sits in the corner.“All the volunteers come and gather here;it gets very busy at times,” smiles Nicola
Hutin,67,a discharge support volunteer.A mother of two,and grandmother of four, she was a membership

It is generally acknowledged that young people from poorer socio-economic backgrounds tend to do
less well in the education system. In an attempt to help the children of poor families,a nationwide program
called “Headstart” was started in the US in 1965.A lot of money was poured into it.It took children into
pre-school institutions at the age of three and was supposed to help them succeed in school. But the results
have been disappointing, because the program began too late. Many children who entered it at three were
already behind their peers in language and intelligence and the parents were not involved in the process. At
the end of each day,“Headstart” children returned to the same disadvantaged home environment.
To improve the results, another program was started in Missouri that concentrated on parents as the
child’s first teachers. This program was based on research showing that working with the family is the most
effective way of helping children get the best possible start in life. The four-year study included 380
families who were about to have their first child and represented different socio-economic status, age and
family structure. The program involved trained educators visiting and working with the parent or parents
and the child. The program also gave the parents some guidance, and useful skills on child development.
At three, the children involved in the “Missouri” program were evaluated with the children selected
from the same socio-economic backgrounds and family situations. The results were obvious. The children in
the program were more advanced in language development, problem solving and other intellectual skills
than their peers. They performed equally well regardless of socio-economic backgrounds or family
structure. The one factor that was found to affect the child’s development was the poor quality of parent-
child interaction. That interaction was not necessarily bad in poorer families.
The “Missouri” program compares quite distinctly with the “Headstart” program.Without a similar
focus of parent education and on the vital importance of the first three years, some evidence indicates that it
will not be enough to overcome education unfairness.

Though it is one of the faded memories of my life today, there are times when I remember his face
clearly, especially his eyes.As he had yellow spots on his eyes we called him Spotty. He would have been a
stray (流浪) dog, until he came to me.
I was seven years old.My dad had just got a new job in Nasik. We had moved into a rented house. It
was raining very heavily on the day we moved.
更多资料添加微信号:hiknow_007 淘宝搜索店铺:乐知课堂It was a cold dark night. We had our meal and went to sleep.Somehow in the midnight I heard some
strange sounds outside the main door.I gathered courage and looked out through the window and I was
really amused with what I saw outside.
There was a small puppy lying on an old doormat which my mother had put outside the door.It was
wet and trembling. At first it was difficult to see the little one.It was the yellow spots on its eyes that made
me realize its presence.
It was trying to get under the doormat to avoid the cold air outside and it had managed to get in as I
could see only its head outside the doormat. Was it sick or injured?
I felt pity for the poor soul.I went in and came out with an old towel.I went near the innocent one and
held it in my hand and wiped the puppy till he had become dry.I took him into my room and made a bed
for him with a woolen blanket and a small pillow. He seemed very healthy and comfortable in his new bed
as he went to sleep immediately.
The next morning, everyone in the family came to know about the unusual guest.“Shall we keep him
with us?” I questioned my mom.
Like any other parents would,my parents first totally refused my idea but my sister and I convinced
them to keep Spotty.
Slowly Spotty got on with everyone and became one of the family members.
